I was involved in the distribution of funds on the ground after this appeal. Sadly, my bad experiences back then ended all my involvement with charities.

Not much has change since 1984. In most african countries and developing countries people still go to sleep hungry every night.

...While we sit in richer countries, surrounded by supermarkets where you can find 20 types of bread, 40 types of joghurt etc.

I know how starving feels. I was down to 45 kg weight while being pregnant and jobless in Peru. I barely made it back to Germany, but still help migrants and developing countries. I wouldn´t mind dying if that way I could save lives.

Part 2: A standard dishwashing machine requires 4 times more of the planet's resources to run than the energy consumed by one Ethiopian. It is true that the population has exploded (largely due to the fact that families don't have education about alternatives or access to contraception), but even so, they are hardly using any of the planet's resources compared to us in the West. Some folks hogging all the food/oil/water, etc. while others, like Ethiopians, are left with very little.
