I've just watched a YouTube video ("The unknown photos of Evita Peron") that explains why there are few photos remaining of a much photographed woman - after her death, & after Perón was deposed, documents (photos, etc.) referrring to her were destroyed:
I've always admired her. She certainly had her faults (who doesn't?), but she did alleviate the lot of the poor.
A truly beautiful and powerful woman! Her image and personality is certainly polarizing in many respects; on one hand we have the Madonna figure, champion of the poor, and on the other, a greedy and exponentially hypocritical politician willing to bash in the heads of opponents. Personally, not her biggest fan, as I come from a country where selfish dictatorial behaviour such as hers is frowned upon, but I can appreciate the way she captures the hearts and attention of so many people.
does anyone know how she really died, because the photos of her body while being prepared showed that she had a cut accross her cheek and nose and her left ear was being partially repaired with wax and her feet looked like they were cut really bad.......she was prepaired with wax to preserve her beauty while she was lying in state so the public could mourn for her and pay their respect to her....I'm just wondering if she was actually murdered and it was covered up.any comments or ideas on this?
I watched this with "High Flying, Adored" playing in the background and achieved a very emotional effect. I'm in no way a fan of hers, but I don't believe she was a monster either. Neither a saint nor a demon, as most of us are, and like my mother always says - the truth is probably somewhere in the middle. The musical did a fantastic job of conveying the controversy, and wasn't defamatory at all.
@xXTheProMeisterXx The truth is in the middle. I'm aiming for that in a novel I'm writing on Eva. Not everyone likes Evita and I respect that you're not a fan. Your mother is a wise person.
stunningly beautiful woman who had good intent... where that led her may not have been as honnorable, but she still had good motives and was a stunning woman thanks for the slides of her

She looks so sweet and nice and gorgeous in these pictures. It's so interesting because her personality was supposedly such a contrast to all that, you know? I mean, not to say she was a completely nasty person, but she was a very strong, confident, conquering woman. She was so fascinating and I wish I was alive when she was so I knew more about her!
She was ardent in her hatred for her enemies, the oligarchy. Evita loyalists trace this deep antagonism to her sexual assault as a teenager by two young landowners' sons.
Not one to waste time on sleep she lived eighteen-hour days.
Pope Pius XII granted her a 30-minutes interview, a length reserved for queens only. She desperately craved the Pontific Marquee, a honorary title bestowed by the Vatican, but never succeeded.
Hello fellow posters.. just wanted to let a certain someone know (I think they had "DonJuan" in their name if I'm not mistaken) that I accidently deleted your post, it was regarding Eva's beauty. I was going to respond to it but hit "delete" instead so my apologies and feel free to post again. Cheers.
I agree with dasan2005 and the other poster whom I "accidently" deleted..sorry. I find Evita's beauty to be quite intruiging. Her style & look was always changing & you can take a series of pictures from various times of her life, late 30's, early 40's, mid 40's, late 40's, early 50's, & they would look like different women altogether. It is a shame cancer ravaged her beauty & aged her considerably but at her physical peak her beauty was rather intoxicating.
That's untrue. There is a book written by Nelson Castro with true and accurated documents on her illness and treatment she received, diagnosis, and so on. It appeared back in January, I do not know if there is an English version yet.
I've heard master's thesis work that was based on Wikipedia articles. So, just because someone does a master's thesis doesn't mean they have all their facts straight. There are more complicated myths about Eva Peron than any other modern historical figure. This is another myth. All incidation is that Peron did NOT withhold medication. (Incidentally, I'm the author of the Wikipedia article about Eva Peron.)
Juan's 3rd wife was not the sharpest knife in the drawer. His first two wives died of cervical cancer. She would have been Juan's next victim had he not died of a heart attack.
The 1st two wives deathes were a eerie accident but this would probably have killed wife #3 too. I was disappointed that wife #3 had Eva's body shipped back and buried in Eva's childhood town. She hated that place, was ashamed and ran away from it at a young age. Very insensive for wife #3 to do to Eva.
I don't know much about Eva I really need to find a good biography about her. I find it fasinating that she died of the same cancer that Juan Perons 1st wife died of at a young age. Did Juan ever put two and two together and realize that he was the cause? Also, did he really love Eva?
I read somewhere that after her death he seemed "grotesquely" diminished. So, I think that he did indeed love her. I've also read that neither of them were "sexual beings." Apparently, Eva Peron was basically asexual. So, it was a different type of relationship, apparently.
I think it was a relationship of power. he gave her power with his political career and she made him keep this power by having the people love her and so trust in her husbands qualities aswell
i am srry 2 hear tht u were bullied. ppl can b real bastards sum tymes. she is an inspiration 2 me coz she went from bein poor 2 becumin 1 of the gr8est women in history. of corse i dnt wanna b 1 of the gr8est women wiv me bein a lad, but i do however want 2 b as famous as wot she woz. as far as ur bullying goes, its always the gr8est ppl in the world who were bullied. they will soon realise tht they made a big mistake.
I love the story of Eva Peron's rise to fame. Although many may disagree; she had a hard life. She was tormented as a child for being an illegitmate child, the higher class of Buenos Aires constantly putting her down. She took her revenge though once Peron had became President. Everyone who had upset her was also forced to leave Argentina. In my opinion, she has a Cinderella story that takes her from rags to riches. She is one of my inspirations.
@RPenty18 So you are inspired by vindictive people who don t tolerate other opinions?? Cinderella was not mean spirited the way she was. Her behaviour was more that of a rakeeter and mobster than a Mother Theresa.
I can't remember the title. I will try to find out for you. I recall reading that Evita or, perhaps el senor Peron, tried to have all prints of her films destroyed. That is why I was so surprised to see this film. It was on Univision, late at night.
One of the most interesting and dynamic women of my lifetime. These photos are incredible. Not too long ago, on a late-night, Spanish-language channel, they showed one of Eva's films. She plays a housekeeper or something. But it was stunning to see. She gave her life for her "descamisados". Evita, God bless you!

What a completely beautiful and elegant woman, very charismatic.
I hope her personality and inner soul where just as wonderful.
After all these years she still commands attention and rightfully so.
We need to know more about this lovely lass.
I bask in the sadness at the thought of her.

If I'm not mistaken, that picture was taken around 1935, probably no later than 1936, so Eva must have been around 16-17 years old.
