why would u even bother with a fucking 20g rofl! Just get it pierced with an 8 to begin with. If you already have a regular piercing just taper from that str8 to 8g, the smaller gauges are non sence.

@Lyssa107 this girl doesn't know a thing, so don't listen to her. Do not wear acrylic or silicon on a fresh stretch. When you are at a smaller gauge, like below a 0g you should sleep with them in until then. A big nono is wearing tapers, they are basically dead-stretching the fistula. You can use them up until a 4g though, seeing as its a bit harder to tape at lower sizes.

@Lyssa107 Not wearing the taper, i meant stretching with the taper, she was actually right that it makes your ear uneven. There is also a difference between an "infection" and a real infection. "Infections" are just irritation in a sort and Infections must be treated by a doctor; its a real infection when you have fever, swollen lymph nodes and other things similar to sickness.

Is it okay to use eye solution to clean your lobes? My piercing artist said that it would be alright to clean it with eye solution but not to use rubbing alcohol. Also, one of my friend said to let the taper slid in your lobe easier if you cover it with chap stick. Is that true? Idk if I should try it. I'm at a 2g and about to size up to a 0g.

@123emyeuanh Contact solution is the same as saline solution, it's okay to use on you're ears. But just mixing hot water with sea salt is the best. Use vasaline or antibacterial ointment not chapstick... I'm at 5/8's.

-they go into fractions of inches...

-NEVER skip sizes... blowouts aren't your only problem, skipping will rip your ear.

-its NEVER recomended to wear a taper, EVER.

-your taper looks acrylic..... NEVER EVER USE ACRYLIC. that is porous too.

-never keep acrylic in because of the fact that it is plastic, and the chemicals from the plastic can go through to your body.

-NEVER USE "EAR CLEANING SOLUTION" containing Benzalkonium chloride, your ear will NEVER heal and it is irritating.

@relentless313 yea i would say that's fine. that's the gage i started out with and of course i had regular pierced ears. the only bad thing is that it kinda hurts because it's the first time ur stretching out ur ears n sometimes the o-rings come out while ur asleep. well at least thats happened to me. I started restretching in October (so 2 months ago) and went straight to 10g. I'm now at half inch (fast, I know), and I used tapers up until now to stretch and left them in until I was ready to stretch again. They don't necessarily make your lobes uneven, but they definitely do weight your lobes down (maybe this is what you meant?) allowing you to size up quicker. I would recommend using tape and oil if you want to size up quickly. I went up 3 sizes in a week with this. KEEP THEM CLEAN! (:

i stretched i got up to a 2g and when i tried to go to a 0 that shit got totally nasty it was leaking it was swollen so i had to completely stop and just let it recover :( but i've been thinking about doing it again and i heard that its also good to use the metal ones because they're heavier and it pulls them down so its easier

I'm at an inch I've had a blow out at 5/8ths got there in a month and it got infected and blown out and my ear grew around it I had to yank it out WORSE PAIN EVER D'x

@vikiwozeya I'd advise not to use Claire's stuff- get some antibacteria soap and clean them during the shower. Don't take out the plug/taper if you just stretched, wait up to 4-5 weeks to take them out. And no, lotion wouldn't do the same thing as emu oil. And for tapers, it depends on the person. Some people put the taper in, and immediately after they put in the plug/tunnel, or they wear the taper for a day to get their ear ready for the plug.
