  • Beautiful and twee in equal measure! Boon Gould's solo is the highpoint ... a very underrated guitarist imho.

  • :-)

  • Im a big fan of level 42 & love this album but shame it was digitally software used it sounds so dead as indeed it was when I saw them at Colston Hall in Bristol. I saw them analogued up in Brighton in 04 i think it was brilliant.

  • I confess, mostly drawn to the keyboard musicianship...it should be noted that Mark continues as a very emotional vocalist...Waiting for more, guys, come on--can we get a chance to hear you all in Atlanta, Ga, USA?

  • a brilliant song from Retroglide. I look forward to the next album

  • Great retro glide track,in some ways ,reminiscent of the material on the' one man' Album.Thought provoking lyrical content as always.

  • Lovely poignant thought provoking video with a beautiful video to match.Having said that though, come on Level42,please do some more funked up classics like "Forever now", "The sun goes down","Turn it on" or " All over you", to mention but a very few!!

  • Unlike some bands that wind up repeating themselves, Level has always progressed while still retaining the ciore of what makes them such a great lyrical band. While Mark's bass playing has become more supportive the band's melodic and harmonic complexity has evolved into one of the best bands EVER! Too bad they have never been recognized for their mastery!

  • these talented musicians can tell story throught music, not only play few chord and made melody like others,Level 42 is a puse music, who can play music like Mr Pink or other great stuff except Level 42..

  • Im digging the great guitar solo and harmony vocals almost seems very prog rock like.

  • what a boring track...is this guy for real...?

  • Love the Retroglide album.

  • A great ender to the "formal" album called Retroglide - which is taking a step back to look upon. Perhaps we all should take a step back from our busy lives & make sure that "we're ready when our ship does finally come for us". Thanks for posting.

  • having thought about it, maybe that is the whole message of the album

  • Arrr, those be some nice images, matey.

  • I dug in to the lyrics very deep, and I think the song is about passing away.

  • maybe, but i think it's also about reflecting on life until this point (see above).

Level 42 have certainly had a lot of ups and downs as a band - the highs of the 80s and success and the lows such as Alan Murphy passing on, splitting in 1994, Mark and Phil falling out, their record company gypping them etc.

Still, they have lived and they are still touring, most importantly for us fans. Long live Level 42!

  • Very well said Gmw090 - and long may they continue touring and making excellent music!

  • With the right marketing, this song could have been on the top of the charts, alongside Coldplay. So melodic, beautiful lyrics, and perfect arrangement. Every time I think about how the media shoves to our mouths music that we don't like, just because its new, I get pissed - look at all the reunions in the last two-three year, the people want the good music all the greats made. but I'm so naive, nothing is gonna' change - next time I (or YOU) open the radio, you will hear another shitty new song.

  • Always kind a liked this song, got a bit of stick when the album came out, me , i think this visual interpretation makes it even better, well done.

  • This is a beautiful song. When your ship comes in, will you be ready?

  • One of his most bland album fillers.A waste of server space IMHO...

  • Sir Mark King anybody?

  • Abso-friggin-lutely!!!! Very impressed lads...been a fan for two and a half decades..see no reason to abandon "ship" now..Mark has always been my inspiration..how about Saint Mark????

  • On the Level 42 official site, you can vote for three songs to be included in the set list for the forthcoming tour in October.

My choices were - Forever Now, Tracie and Heaven In My Hands. The top three are currently Good Man In A Storm, Tracie and Dive Into The Sun.

Get voting peeps (but don't abuse the voting system!)

  • Clouds is a masterpiece .... along with Ships ... but 1st for me is Kansas City Milkman

  • Listening closer - the start sounds familiar to the start of Heaven 17s 'Temptation' :s

  • Whoever ripped that poster in the video should be hung, drawn and quartered!!

    Yobs these days (tut!)

  • Amen to that! I'll lead the riot...let's go!!

  • great song from Boon Gould.

  • Stunning harmony, reminiscent of the Beach Boys (My favorite band).

  • It has elements of early Queen at points - a great song from a great band!
