The earlier the better. I heard some people even came a day before to be near the ball or some people was just like to come late and move in crowds. it is true if ur hotel is in the center u have right to move in and out. Otherwise police will not let people come close to ball after certain time

Sydney looked really nice, that's right. But London? Nothing special. There were only fireworks, nothing else. People were bored (especially tourists). I know that, cos my friends were in London that night and they came back very disappointed. In NY people were really enjoying NYE - it's the most important thing. Times Square was full of happy people, colorful serpentines and baloons.. It was awesome night! Love this city!
