Wow. I could tell the track was heading somewhere, building to a solo, and then Hotei comes in with a tone and phrasing like Billy Gibbons from ZZ-Top. I love the deep bass of the driving drum rythmn, and his gorgeous pale dancer, as pliable as a silk scarf. High art for the ears and the eyes.
This concert ABOUNDS with traditional Japanese aesthetics. Talk about an inimitable and incomparable venue - Tōdai-ji! This would be one experience I regret having missed. Effing historic!
