  • Channel 4. Shitting on BBC since 1982.

  • Needs more pig.

  • what song is in this advert, i've been trying to find it for ages!

  • @shannongracesterling machine gun by portishead (you need to skip near the end though)

  • I think of this whenever I see David Cameron on TV now.

  • Brilliant Series.

  • That was a very dark programme indeed!

  • Does anyone know what music is playing in the background? :S

  • @mwoosey Machine Gun by Portishead

Fantastic song. Now go watch the video.

  • @salenth Thanks for the track :) And I have watched the program. I've seen National Anthem twice and 15 Million Merits 5 times already :')

  • i pray that this is picked up for another series, or another set of episodes. It really is the new Twilight Zone =) each story feels like a very contained satirical horror film. Brooker is just brilliant.

  • where the fuck can i watch this??

  • @PaperMoonMedia You can watch it on 4od, the first two episodes of this series should be up there (National Anthem and 15 Million Merits).

  • @DarkAlignment go to channel4 . com it should be on there both episodes:)

  • my stomach is still unsettled from watching it

  • @bronzebrunettes same here

  • Oink oink callow

  • The best thing I've seen on tv since Game of Thrones!!

  • i'm sorry but charlie brooker has a very sick mind. who comes up with a story like this?

  • @rachie441 Totally agree!

  • Personally I thought The National Anthem was one of the finest moments on television to come out in the last few years, daring and bold Charlie didn't hesitate to ram home his take on our modern society, and wasn't to far from the truth in my opinion.

  • Yeah, a whole ward of nurses staring at a video of Cameron fcuking a pig for a whole hour, like they've got nothing better to do or something. That was almost insulting. And it being played in pubs while the barmaid nonchalantly pulls pints. What was this meant to be, some kind of League of Gentlemen type comedy? I know X-Factor, Big Brother, I'm a Celebrity, et al, which the general public lap up like morons are all fucking awful shite, but to make the leap to pig-fucking is just ridiculous.

  • @LyricalWax Also it was a pisstake on Gordon Brown apologizing to Gillian Duffy after public opinion got out of control and left him with little choice but to swallow his pride and do so. Next weeks episode takes place in an alternate futuristic reality - these are all "Worst case scenarios" of the downside of technology not "This could actually happen!"

  • why would you fuck a pig? the royal family is pointless

  • @estewart98 i agree to an aextent that no human (if tey are moraly good) is pointless but its about shame but it has a great twist at the end.

  • Machine Gun - Portishead

  • Song name? Or song origin?

  • Song name?

  • That was so shit, even as an attempt at satire. And I'm one of Charlie's biggest fans. Really hoping the others are at least a million times better.

  • @LyricalWax I think you took it way to seriously- it was more a pisstake on the amount of humiliating and degrading stuff we already watch on a TV on a day to day bases and the obsession the masses have over sensationalism, which is all very true. Just take a look at "I'm a Celebrity" millions of people tune in to watch someone eat a camel penis. Exaggerated or not the message is still true.

  • @DarkAlignment Lol, just posted above that I know I'm a Celebrity and other 'reality TV' which the general public lap up is all awful crap, but to make the leap to pig-fucking is just ridiculous. Even as a satirical "worst-case" scenario, it just didn't hold any water.

And trust me when I say I'm a huge fan of Brooker, but this must the first thing of his, written or screened, that I've not liked, let alone hated.

Just the premise mind, can't fault the production, music, atmosphere or acting.

  • @LyricalWax I thought it held plenty of water. He wasn't accusing us all of watching someone fuck a pig- just societies mob-mentality in general when it comes to social-networking... The PM was forced into a situation that normally would have been swept under the rug, but because of Youtube that didnt happen. Then the news tried to underplay the story, but twitter or facebook wouldn't let it happen. The story wasn't about the pig-fucking at all, it just symbolised a humiliating act.

  • @LyricalWax Like Gordon Brown apologizing to Gillian Duffy. In terms of story telling, i think that was a fantastic idea. If you need something humiliating for the PM to do, why not push it all the way?

  • @DarkAlignment Oh man, I know people are entitled to opinions and all but I can't believe you're comparing this to the Duffy apology!! Woah, what a vicious mob mentality that was, the heartless bastards! And I'm sorry, but the only thing convincing him to do it was those stupid opinion polls. If anything, that's where it fell through, as if the PM, or ANYONE with a shred of decency would do such an act all because of polls and a stupid twitter feed?! I know this isn't The Wire but that's insane!

  • @LyricalWax Listen. Your taking this to seriously, and Charlie himself said its a parody of the Duffy apology, Black Mirror is drenched in symbolism, not reality. Next weeks episode is about people who spend there entire lives on exercise bikes for the chance to take part in an X-Factor styled contest. I hope that doesn't make your head explode or accuse charlie of saying people would actually do that in real life.

  • @DarkAlignment That's kind of my point, realism aside, even using an extreme bizarre situation as a comment on society, it was utterly flawed.

  • @LyricalWax That's your opinion I guess, but I thought it was a perfectly told story, and has already received praise among reviewers across the net, just because you don't get it, don't bash it. Personally I think you were just grossed out by the bestiality to really see anything else in it. And mob mentality IS very vicious, always. People were sneering and condemning Jade Goody even as she lay on her death bed, and in the darkest parts of the world people are still executed for witchcraft.

  • @LyricalWax And I don't think it was a stretch. If an unpopular PM was forced to do something horrific for the sake of a popular princess, I think alot NOT ALL, but alot of people would goad him on to do so. He may not actually do it, but people would still be rooting for it to happen, maybe not you, but alot of people. Because things like this has happened before, and when people voice there opinions within the masses they can be right pricks.

  • PMs gonna get pig AIDS LOL

  • Watched halfway through first episode then stopped, someone tell me this, is the ending okay to watch or does the worst outcome happen? Don't wanna watch it if it's horrid

  • @ZombieSlayer1210 No it's good! It's not scary or anything

  • @ZombieSlayer1210 Don't watch, it was shit and annoying. Such a rubbish comment on society if that's what he was trying to do. It's a bit hard to predict and parody the reactions of 20-odd million people and the whole British media.

  • @LyricalWax yeah I bet if the PM had sex with a pig on national television you totally wouldnt watch it, your better then that.

  • @DarkAlignment Well of course I wouldn't! Not because I'm better than anyone but because that's kind of a repulsive thing to watch in my opinion. But whatever floats your boat.

And to think he was trying to say we all would, or 99% of us or whatever, so much so that if Princess Kate was staggering about the Millennium Bridge for HALF AN HOUR after being abducted, no one would notice... well, I call bullshit on that.

And don't get me started on the (bloke's!) severed finger.

  • @ZombieSlayer1210 Stop being such a fucking baby and watch it.

  • @ZombieSlayer1210 You don't see anything bad at all.

  • @ZombieSlayer1210 you dont acctualy see him shagging the pig if thats what you mean

  • The Black Mirror version of youtube is much wittier than the real one.

  • What's got 6 legs and makes you laugh? Michael Callow fucking a pig!

  • thought this was really interesting and absolutely awful at the same time.

  • I AM SO EXCITED

  • That series is going to take WAY too long to get anywhere.

  • I'm going to collapse its wave functions in this subset

  • Oh what? I was going to completely ignore this...but now that its Charlie Brooker's Im the biggest fan ever! (I understand that I am in fact, a cun)

  • Im in this!!

  • I am pregnant or SUTIN

  • Really looking forward to this one!

  • kvte

  • Cute.

  • whats the music?

  • @JoshuaHubbardmedia Machine gun by portishead

  • @JoshuaHubbardmedia Portishead - Machine Gun

  • Looks cute.

  • @stork101 he has to fuck a pig on live TV on every channel...

  • @MrPlumblord Yes, I know.

  • Charlie Brooker = God.

  • Loving the choice of music for the 2 ads I've seen. Hearing Portishead's The Rip on the tele last week really drew my attention away from the laptop (I never watch ads as a point of principle, but I inadvertently listen to them sometimes).

  • Interesting premise, good cast.. Looking forward to this! :)

  • OoooooOOOOOOoo!

  • Cute

  • My body is ready...

  • Looks haunting and brilliant.

Btw, who the fuck put their reaction as "Cute"?

  • Looking forward to another Charlie Brooker series.
