  • what is this song ?

  • Very weak, pure acrobatic and coreography, is with reason only a sport. This is not effective in a real fight.

  • @alekt5 I don't think that any acrobatics and choreography will ever be useful in a fight, but to say that this disipline isn't effective in a fight is like saying that the Army doesn't use handguns in war. This is simply a DEMONSTRATION, not an acutal event.

  • @ApollosInsight You then I will be direct. These fighting techniques are very weak, ineffective, obsolete. Taekwondo martial art could never be, it's just a sport aerobics.

  • @alekt5 No, not exactly. You see, the olympic form of TKD is far more popular than the tradtional competition of TKD. In the olympic form, there are rules designed to measure SCORING, whereas the traditional competition allows for full contact and kicking technique. ITF form is the true form of TKD, which the western world tends to overlook.

  • @ApollosInsight You are wrong. I am a martial artist, I know the styles. ITF Taekwondo has rules sports, sports training, sport techniques. In addition, Choi Hong Hi, founder of ITF taekwondo, had little experience in martial arts, only reached 2 º Dan in Karate sports focused. It is natural that his creation is so obsolete in the defense, only serves to tournaments, it's just sport. You're free to think whatever you want, but the history and facts speak for themselves.

  • @alekt5 Here, let me give you a few examples of fighters who practice ITF TKD:

    Hwang Su IL

    Lukazs "Juras" Jurkowski

    Stephen Talipatu (or Tapilatu)

Another thing, TKD is very popular that it's even growing in Thailand, where Muay Thai is supposed to be much more effective than TKD. I highly doubt that the +77 million people worldwide would learn a martial art that's very obsolete in defense and in practical applications.

  • You think that popularity is effectiveness?. Sorry to tell you but you're ignorant. The popularity is because it is a sport, and when it comes to talking about martial arts, talk of martial artists, not "fighters." No doubt that taekwondo serves for develop elasticity and little agility, but for defense not.

  • @ApollosInsight That have many students not is shown effectiveness, people choose to simply do what is easier, there are few who train really hard thing, exhausting, truly good takes sacrifice and of masters who devoted his life to martial arts to be effective. Choi Hong Hi was a rookie.

  • @alekt5 Here's a simple angle to look at it: If TKD wasn't effective, do you think that millions of ppl around the world would be practicing it? Sure, just b/c TKD may not have worked for you doesn't reflect on the fact that it's ineffective. Both nations of Korea have put it to use in their military & world class MMA fighters such as Anderson Silva and Cung Lee have effectively demonstrated its usefulness. I hope that you'll encounter a better perception of TKD later in your life.

  • @ApollosInsight You are completely ignorant... first study and after talk. MMA is a sport, has a time, rules, judges, protected in the hands and mouth, this sport. I see MMA, but I know they is only sporting fighting. For the martial art is a fight to death, otherwise avoided.

  • @ApollosInsight The Korean army performed tkd, only by the whim of Choi, but after failing, was changed to hapkido, is currently training. The people train tkd for sport, because it is a sport of tournaments therefore is not defense, its techniques are not effective in true fight, in the street.

  • taekwondo malaysia gonna be harder coz for those red belt that gonna be junior black belt must kick the bord with thick of 2 inch and red belt 1 need to kick board that thick 1 inch

  • id hate for those bricks to be my face. im goin to start taking tae kwon do soon.

  • muito massa

  • muito bom

  • 1:43 OMG! FUKING AWESOME

  • Board breaking is ridiculous. Worse, breaking boards are so fragile that they can be broken off with just a little power. Learn to break multiple layers of bricks with your foot then show it off. Just drop board breaking, it doesn't look cool at all.

  • If you cant do it, it doesnt mean its ridiculous. It means you suck.

  • @lcw1980:

Quite the contrary. When I first tried board breaking (red belt), I thought it was too easy that I immediately got the impression those things really were meant to be safely hit and broken in the first place. Even taking out three stacks of them with a simple dolyo chagi was a snap -- and I barely had to give out all of my power. Brick breaking (1st Dan), on the other hand, was much more difficult and painful to start with. That's why board breaking never takes my breath away.

  • @gardanegara no offense but you do relise why board breaks exist? it is to demonstrate technique and speed in the delivery of the kick or strike in order to break the board, it has nothing to do with " looking cool".

  • The fight at 1:43 is just amazing :O

  • that is pretty cool!!

  • legal eu sou praticante de taekwondo e gostei!!!!!!!!

  • perfect !

  • maneiro

    xD

  • korean tigers are the best!

  • o cara nao nasceu apanhando do medico e sim fasendo o medico chora so q igual eu faço aquilo brincando

  • OMG O:

    muito dahora msm! *-*

  • they're just great, but looking at the same destruction and choreographed fights routines is starting to get old... Gen Choi said TKD was open to evolve, so the ITF federations should start including some ground techniques (descent ones) and they should start including sweeps and takedowns in competition sparring, but I guess that is not going to happen

  • muito legal mesmo incrivel

  • carambaaaaaaaaa muito bommmm

  • Extra!

  • This is quite amazing! That guy has amazing balance, control and speed. He utilizes the far distance Taekwondo kicks and close distance the self-defence Taekwondo techniques really well.

  • wow!! i wish my demonstrations were that good

  • no u couldn't delmarlover

it is only wtf taekwondo tht do that not itf

  • tiesto - adagio for strings ;) <3

  • That was a great vid. Lots of 5th degrees and up as well striped dobooks all over the place.

  • i need your opinion..

im 17years old if i start with teawondo can i go to the olympic games???

    please comment everyone.

  • This is ITF (International Taekwondo Foundation). The taekwondo at the olympics is WTF (World Taekwondo Foundation)

    They are different arts.

  • yeah but ITF tae kwon do is so much better then wtf. go itf

  • u mean federation not foundation

  • nice compilation

  • itf is a great style but most dont realise that in wtf you can use your hands in sparring and that many fighters do, i do wtf and understand that many people may not see it as a complete art due to how wtf fighters fight but it varies from club to club, at my club i guard with my arms/hands and pucnh and have been very successful scoring silver in a national comp i competed in only a couple of days ago, but itf is amazing to watch no doutb about that =]

  • Um... We use our hands in ITF..

These guys are awesome but it was obvously coreographed

  • it truely is the fighter not the style..

but i prefer ITF so much better because its soo much more authentic and origional, wtf didnt copy it properly and missed out really important things such as using a gaurd to protect you and give you better balence, they also dont use hand techniecs which unbalenses in even more that the sparing is a complete wast of space evryone who saw it on the oylimpics i know was really disapointed..

i belive itf is best for me:)

  • The Art of True Korean TaeKwonDo.

  • Awesome Movie!

  • itf ftw!!!I am one!7. kup!

  • cool!

  • at the part beginning at 1:17, is that how a real-life fight would work if you knew taekwondo?

  • yea, we are trained to do it this way, but then again it depends on the fighter's skill and natural reaction to bring out it's true practicality to bring the assailant down.

  • It's just defend yourself on the exam u need to do those too
