@08Kutt nope, the diodes I currently have on this driver work well. Plus, I cannot push any more power out of this driver in the first place. I already blew one trace, and fixed it with solder and wire. I also added wire and solder along the traces to prevent future failure. Whatever year I will have money to blow on more electronics, I will make my IGBT zvs with some nice fast diodes
@scrapkilla321 59 volts on "idle" (no arcing) and 38 when drawing maximum arc. I know the amps is over five, but I do not think it passes 10 much. Once I go back to my fathers house I have an analog amp meter I can throw in series to find out.
@juniortore1 i have a 555 driving a irfp250 and i put about 20 to thirty volts and it draws about 1.5 to 2 amps depending on the frequency i tune it to ... i was wondering about the zvs but i can never get it to work right
@lokeycmos thanks. Wait until i do some driver mods and try dual flybacks or something. The song credits were at the end of the video... anyway: Kottonmouth Kings "Running things" I still have to yet edit a zvs video of arcs. Lots more to come :)
@pieznice29 Since I do not have any wires (at my moms house at least) I had to use those two red perfume bottles of my moms. Which sucked because it took FOREVER to space them correctly without the arc either not firing, or getting stuck on the bottom
@juniortore1 Couldn't you have used some wire coathangers (if you had any around) or even two table knives? ~ Perfume bottles? But one's got pens & markers in it. Were these cylinders actual bottles or maybe the packaging they came in? Anyway, very creative improvising. :)
@maintoc yes, but all of the coat hangers at my moms are plastic and I have no wood or anything to mount the coat hangers to. The bottles were what the real perfume bottles were inside for a container
@juniortore1 Ok. Yes, some people only have plastic or even wooden coathangers. I think most folks have wire ones around somewhere, though. As for the cylinders, ok, they were containers for the actual bottles. They sure worked well, though.
That transformer is about 300VA, I have a very similar one, except the primary is 230V

@TheError404 That is about what I would have guessed. I found it in some receiver that didnt work in the garbage that I believe was 150W per channel.

have you tried with a MUR160 or MUR860 in the place of 1n4007? they are ultra fast, something like 10MHz, fuckin amazing ZVS driver man!

@SciFacts4YOU yep. Well, I will try to repair your ZVS asap and your flyback works well with 50v for short runs (otherwise it may burn out from heat)
