@shawnearth9 "Get rid of political contributions" ... ?!?!?!
The U.S. is in dire need of sweeping campaign financing reform, but you're being ridiculous. Political contributions are a constitutionally protected form of speech, and commercial interests do have a place in our legislature. It becomes problematic, however, when those interests eclipse that of the public, which is what we've observed for decades. Reform is necessary, but talk of eradicating campaign financing altogether is nonsense!
Remember folks, it's the pols put in office by big money, both Republican and Democrats that are screwing us. WE need to get rid of political contributions, lobbyists, etc... Then are vote will have more impact.
"vote for me and I will set you free." That more describes Obama than Bush. He was the one that was treated like some messiah figure by so many people. Now only those on the left does because they are loons anyway.
WAR AND THE MILITARY/INDUSTRIAL COMPLEX ARE THE ONLY THINGS THAT KEEP CAPITALISM GOING..THIS SYSTEM SUCKS....IT CAPITALIZES ON 98% OF US AND THE RICH LAUGH IN OUR FACES AND AT THE PAYCHECKS THEY SHOVE AT US..REVOLUTION.....
@rexrockandroll We can't LIVE on this. Soon...the rich will no longer be rich. It's all falling apart...and soon it will cave in on them. I've seen it happen before. You can't let it stress you out...too many are dying young from that. The stress kills. Things get worse for some...and better for some. We can't dwell on where it takes us...but we can do all we can to make it take the right path. We need to live...not die from this.
@bdjoh011 HUH? Why did you write this to me? I never mentioned that...did you confuse me with someone else on here? I do agree with you tho. Sadly tho...hatred won't stop....probably never will.

Okay, I'm a old conservative old white guy from Alabama. But I get the video.

@Bamaboompa You sure got that right. I'm a slightly liberal from NY, and its great that we see eye to eye on c-Rap. However, our politcians had to get along with opposing members of Congress during this time. Now, it seems, that no one will compromise with anyone, and thats the new way to get elected. Still one of the best videos for a song I've seen here...I love how you have Kurt Cobain for the "Suicide" image - I remember when that happened, and it was a huge impact. Bravo Miss ;)
The more things change, the more they stay the same...I wish I could actually post what I really feel.....instead of the line "and the band plays on" I would just say and the lies go on....
OUTSTANDING!! It is a damn shame that the world has been this way for a long time. We really need to get it together, but I know I will not see it in my lifetime. Great job on the pictures to go with this video.... AWESOME STATEMENT! ;)
@kjchicago1 ~ Greedy Government, segragation, racism, poverty, drugs wars, rising unemployment, massive amounts of state assistance, and children growing up too soon. Um maybe you should listen to the words before voicing your opinion. I know what I am talking about, the only thing that has changed is the date!! Hey there terris . . . I related to your video assembly skills enough to be moved into sharing a "similar" project. ( if you approve it's posting )
Also an "iMovie effort" !
Of course, it begins with a sample-piece / mash-up, then came the video-work.

Did you consider using The Beatles "Free As a Bird" for a more "not pegged in the 60's" effect ?.. of course, that might not of "played" in the time "alloted".
@terris1958: And thanks for the thanks, and yet again for taking the time to comment on "Can't Buy Me" . . and for allowing it's presence here even . . wow, lots of load'sa thanks all around, huh ?
Even tho' a visit to "YourTube" saw your stitched eyeball cause me to shriek & recoil, ';' I still relate in many ways . . particularly your video-editing where you create moments of both humor and "coolness" impact . . a tricky balance that few possess !
@DmRofAtoZ LOL, the stitched eyeball thingy is one of my Dali-esque inspired photoshop creations! Hahaha, didn't mean to scare you with it! Really did LOVE your "Can't Buy Me For The Love Of Money" Vid! GREAT re-mix & production! Question: did you create this with imovie? & what other plug-ins or software did you use?
wow what a very very powerfull I do mean powerfull jam. the temps should have gotten the presidential award. i mean they talk the truth in this soul of a monster song. who ever reads this could understand what i mean. "ball of confusion". remember this awesome beatt. because we are in a ball of confusion of a world.reallity has set in for this rotten picking world.rock on temps rock on.
I like the song, but it feels like the video tried to endorse the American imperialistic values. That's kinda appalling in a way. Buuut, being an atheist hippie: I'm not entitled to being offended. For that you need to be rich, powerful and erroneous...
Yeah, no, I just noticed that when they sung about "the teacher", there was a picture of Jesus Christ... Not exactly what I'd call your ideal symbol of an autodidaktos, Leonardo Da Vinchi would have been far more accurate. Not to mention the image of US soldiers when they speak of obligations. If a leader forces you to die in a manmade nightmare such as the Iraq war: You need a new leader.
So, that being said, I'd like to add, with all due respect... "sir": Bite me, jackass.
Well, from an American perspective I'm actually one of the most conservative people ever. See, I decided to read the constitution instead of just misrepresenting it whilst patronizing the common man with phrases like "I am not a crook.", or "Damn the torpedoes." or the anti-constitutional "God bless America.", or what other insane nonsense that would give the illusion of competence. I don't expect you to understand, odds are you don't even know what your rights are.
Actually: You don't. Incest and also sodomy, not to mention gay relationships are outlawed in most/some parts of the states. So soliciting it could get you in a lot of trouble.
Thanks for making my point, though. All the best to you.
Also: I complained about the -video-, not the song. It felt like the images didn't fit very well with the message. I don't expect you to understand, that would require you to be able to read.
Incredible song, it still applies to the modern-day world we have today. And a perfect job on the video work Mr. Terris - the images, the sync, etc. This is an example of how music videos used to be when the imagery illustrated the lyrics. Keep up the great work Sir...
shut up with this tropic thunder crap this song is too damn good thats what we should be focusing on. Temptations one of the greatest groups of all time and this song clearly fits todays world. the comment below me clearly shows how dumb people are today.
This song is so awesome and the meaning is still relevant today except somehow the creator of this video thinks the politicians that want higher taxes are republicans. Enough with the brainwashing... enjoy the song and leave the liberal propaganda out!!!
Yep. It was on my transistor radio that summer in perfect mono along with Freda Payne"Band of Gold", Vanity Fair "Hitchin a ride", The Carpenters "Close to you" ,Alive and Kickin "Tighter and Tighter", Blues Image "Ride Captain Ride", Bread "make it with you", Chicago "25 or 6 to 4" The Five Stairsteps"O-o-h Child ", Three Dog Night "Mama Told Me Not Come" Eric Burdon and War "Spill that Wine Dig that Girl" and of course Mungo Jerry "In the Summertime "
@kjchicago1 Pure Summer of 1970. We actually loved summer back then. Everybody did not hide in their Air conditioned whatever counting the days until September as they do now. Sitting out sunbathing (did not know it was cancer causing then) listing to these songs on the transistor radio
Just for future reference, Google Image Search is not considered a legal source for photos because Google does not own them. It is simply the means for finding them on their respective websites. This video is full of copyright infringement from beginning to end. Great effort though, and definitely a great song! :)

CoastGuardIDC 7 months ago
@CoastGuardIDC

This song is so awesome and the meaning is still relevant today except somehow the creator of this video thinks the politicians that want higher taxes are republicans. Enough with the brainwashing... enjoy the song and leave the liberal propaganda out!!!
