This all comes down to the fact that Fed doesn't think Murray should be considered one of the favorites to win a grand slam because he's never won one himself. Going into the Austrailian Open, Murray had been playing the best of the top 4.

rafa clearly shows a long era of dominance, knowing that he uses an unorthodox grip-western and he's a lefty. federer's strategy is to attack the forehand. its his mindset. when matched against nadal, he is forced to think otherwise or to just do what he's trained to, which is attack the forehand, which in turn is nadal's defensive backhand. and nadal also has great athleticism.

It was the fans in the crowd who screamed their love for him that broke him in half. Roger wanted to hold the trophy high for Peter in front of the legends who shaped the game thats given him so much. It was a tall order. Taller than leveling grand slam titles with Sampras. Everybody knows the end of the story. Murray crushed out against an amazing Verdasco and even if he had advanced, I don't think he could have taken on Rafa AND Roger in the Final. No chance! This is technically Andy Murray's 17th slam ALSO...because he missed two (FO and Wimbledon 2007) because of injury...so he still would've played those slams as a low seed and been knocked out in 3R/4R

rafa clearly shows a long era of dominance, knowing that he uses an unorthodox grip-western and he's a lefty. federer's strategy is to attack the forehand. its his mindset. when matched against nadal, he is forced to think otherwise or to just do what he's trained to, which is attack the forehand, which in turn is nadal's defensive backhand. and nadal also has great athleticism.

It was logical due to Murray getting convincingly to the US OPen final (overwhelmened by the moment clearly!), and subsequently beating Fed at the Masters and then again in SE Asia. Fed cried due to the pressure he feels in letting his overwhelming fan-down and the tremendous expectation and hopes placed on him...but winning for him will be less frequent and he will learn patience. Not easy for someone who's used to winning consecutively virtually EVERY season. It's a new language for him.

It was the fans in the crowd who screamed their love for him that broke him in half. Roger wanted to hold the trophy high for Peter in front of the legends who shaped the game thats given him so much. It was a tall order. Taller than leveling grand slam titles with Sampras. Taller than taking down Nadal. It was the biggest moment Ive seen in his professional career. The loss of the match is nothing for how he showed us the depth of his love for the game and a friend long gone.
