Elec melee just isn't that great, it sacrifices too much damage for its "control" element. Sure, it has knockdown too, but so does SS, SM and WM and all those have other control elements and a lot of damage in both ST and AoE. A lot of elec/ attacks are some sort of weak attacks that can hit a few targets if there's enough cluster. Lightning Rod is now outshone by Shield Charge, which does more damage and taunts, and it's one tier lower which means Tanks get it early on. Elec Melee is "fine" ...
and Khelds were "fine" too when they got introduced. They still got buffs nonetheless. Anyway, IMO what Elec melee would need is to make it the ultimate AoE specialist so others can continue their own ST goodness. I vote for Lightning Clap to be changed into a damage power, change KB into KD and we're done. Also buff Lightning Rod so that it does more damage than Shield Charge, or make it so that the "extra" tick is applied to the whole area, á la Shield Charge. Also add a Taunt element to it.

A brute is the villain version of a tanker. A tanker's primary ability is his/her armor and offense is secondary. But Brutes are more of the offensive primary and armor secondary. Brutes knock down a group more easily, faster, but Tankers can tank a group like this and take a little bit longer but not break a sweat.
