Depends what you like. I think Dale Eagle's intent is to be an entertainer, not run a psych job. If you watch him after matches, he's a great sportsman (there's one from 1999 against Mike Durbin that really stands out.)

Ernie Schlegel's out to win, and his antics aren't for fun and games - he's genuinely trying to mess with the other guy's head. Considering he comes from a tradition of action bowling in New York City in the 1960s, it's not too surprising he's developed a few tricks.

Even though Ernie won several titles in his career, I think he won more money pot bowling on the side, I heard stories of him always wagering around a couple of thousands on one game. He almost always won 2.

Sounds about right. He's quite legendary on the NYC action bowling scene - pulling wins out of God-knows-where.

I remember he made match play right after the "new PBA" rolled out in '01-02, and he went against Patrick Allen in the round of 32.

It turned out to be one of the most talked-about match play segments in a while. With that pair of shy, demure New Yorkers, there was just a wee bit of trash talking on that pair, I'd bet. lol

The match in question was in Grand Rapids, I have heard the stories of PA and Ernie walking shots out 10-15 lanes just to screw with the other guys head.
