yeah Pixar has done quite a few shout outs to Ghibli in the past. Probably because most of the animators and directors are big Miyazaki fans. heck, the head of Pixar is personal friends of Miyazaki, and was responsible for getting Disney the rights to localize Ghibli films in north america. a good move because their voice talent is top notch.
