  • If you're not a British citizen the NHS will, in fact, charge you for healthcare...

  • *Pops out shoulders*

Dumb american accent "hurrr try it again"

  • haha

  • Great idea, when people get sick in the U.S. fly them to Europe for treatment. It would be much cheaper.

  • A friend of mine, a nurse, had a job in America. She left when the doctor walked away from the bedside of a sick old lady because her insurance wasn't in place. Doctors are supposed to be healers. I'd like to meet an American Doctor, just to spit in his eye. If they work within that system they are greedy evil bastards, and you should not trust them with your life. Grow up, America. After 234 years, even a yoghurt develops a culture!

  • yes! totally agree!

  • We have great health care in the U.S. and great doctors too. One incident doesn't change this. Don't belive all the lies you hear. And everyone is treated, if you go to the ER, you are treated, insurance or not.

  • And then you get billed.

  • Yes you get billed, in other words you are supposed to pay for the service you get...is this a novel concept?

The thing is poor people don't pay the bill, so in reality they get the service for free. It's not a good system, it needs to be changed, but to give one sixth of the economy to the government? Are we sure we want to do this? What is the governments track record concerning running a business?

  • You mean the destitute don;t pay the bill. Not the same thing. And it depends on how much is charged for the service, and what government handles it. If it's just a case of 'same-price-different-owner' then that is all wrong. But you really can;t imagine what a real National Health service, dedicated to the people, rather than profit, is.

  • Very true, I don't know how it would work. What I do know is our government is not very good at running anything. We are 14 trillion dollars in debt. With the baby boomers starting to retire, our social security program is going to be way under-funded. And we have elected officials who vote on bills without even reading them!....it's not a good feeling here in the U.S.

  • I am told that the plan is to coerce people into the 'nationalised' system - which is appalling. In Britain there is a choice between private or national healthcare, and often, they work in tandem - it depends what people want or need. and because the NHS is such total, precradle-to-grave comprehensive care (it would take too long to cover just how good it is) the private sector have to keep costs down, or they would only appeal to the actually insane.

  • america is so diverse

there are some who will risk their lives in afghanistan to fight for their fellow americans, and there are the selfish others who wont even help save the lives of their fellow americans

  • 47 MILLION Americans fall through the net - not elligible for free care, not accepted for private insurance. And in any case, I have talked with enough Americans to know that your poor excuse for 'healthcare' doesn't even begin to compare with the NHS. Those who belong to the family of a nation, those who are sick, get cared for. Without having to think for one moment about anything other the sanctity of their life and well-being. Is this a novel concept to you?

  • Most bad government results from too much government ....T. Jefferson

  • PS - just read your channel. You say you are a Christian, but basically, your beliefs are, if your own clan can't take care of it, bugger off and die. In Bible studies, did you happen to skip the parable of the Good Samaritan?

  • I have a lot more belief in people, over "government" A person really can make it on their own. But our socialist governments have convinced many that they are not able to make it on their own, they need "help". Sorry, it's not true....rely on the government and you will always be poor. I'll put my trust in God everyday over Bush or Barack. Peace!

  • Well I expect if you break a leg you don't see the doctor. God just heals it right?

  • The healing power of God is amazing. Prayer cured a problem I was having with my wrist.

  • When prayer heals a gun shot wound to the heart with prayer, I'll be impressed.

  • How about when prayer heals a person with cancer?

Anything is possible with God, the only catch: yoy have to believe!

  • @JBTG33 are you retarded ?

  • @beandick3 I'm guessing you are a liberal....clue: it's the name calling that gives you away......I'm open for a discussion if you are interested. Plan on getting drilled.

  • @beandick3 About what I figured, name call, then hide. Classy screen name!

  • @JBTG33 "name call then hide" wtf are you talking about now ?

  • @beandick3 You call me a "retard"....by the way that is not PC...and that's it?....no discussion, no comment, no message, no stand.......?????......probably just as well.

  • @JBTG33 I didn't call you anything, I simply asked if you were retarded. The reason why I asked was because you said "The healing power of God is amazing. Prayer cured a problem I was having with my wrist."

  • @beandick3 ohhh....you were just asking a question.....well here is the deal. I was at a "healing" prayer service, and I was a bit skeptical. People praying "over" others, I really didn't participate. I thought it was wierd. But I did pray for healing. My wrist had been hurting. I play golf, and the thousands of times I banged my club into the ground had taken it's toll (I thought). But I prayed for "healing"....the wrist has been fine ever since. Facts are facts. It's the only thing I did.

  • @JBTG33, so what you're saying is; its an absolute fact "God, healed" your wrist ?

  • @JBTG33 the immune system, placebo effect, time? any of these a possiblity

  • @hellohello66666 Sure......but the fact is this: I was taking meds and taping my wrist becuse is was sore, I prayed, and it hasn't been sore since......is prayer a possibility?......It's something that you really can't understand until you buy into it. I am a life long Christian, but only in the past 8-9 years have I really believed.....big difference.

  • @JBTG33 tell you what, i'll give you everything i own if you break your wrist again, dont go to the emergency room but pray away, do so much praying you can barely talk! If you dont die of infection feel free to have my house. i love it, you had so many variables acting on your damaged wrist, yet you believe the only thing to help was the one thing you cannot see prove hear smell touch or taste!!! but really you arent hurting anyone you're just close minded

  • @hellohello66666 Ya, I agree, being closed minded is something that I need to work on. But I can give several examples of how "my invisible little friend" seems to be guiding my life. The more I trust in him, and try to do his will, the richer my life is....I have had a couple of agnostics tell me "keep doing what you are doing, it seems to be working".....however most just write me off as a religious nut job....Peace!

  • @hellohello66666 oh....by the way, that has already happened, I broke my wrist, but just iced it, (we were on vacation).....it hurt pretty bad, but the swelling wasn't too bad so I didn't go to the ER.....found out later that it was broke.....when can we get together to take care of the legal matters concerning the transfer of property?......jk....hope your day is a good one, I going golfing.

  • @JBTG33 hairline fractures dont count you moron, ive had two from martial arts and both have healed in 2 days

  • @hellohello66666 I enjoy talking to people on you tube, but why is it so necessary to name call?......jk means just kidding.....I still hope you have a great day.

  • @JBTG33 if you get offended by moron, you are going to be shocked if you keep on spouting archaic religious nonsense in the presense of a lot of people who have common sense and the ability to think for themselves like on good old youtube!

  • @hellohello66666 Nonsense?....All I have done is told you some things that have happened. How do YOU explain things, when there is no "factual" explaination?....Is "I dunno" more logical that the fact that there could be a higher power at work?

"common sense" and being rude, don't have to go together.

It IS an absolute fact that sinse I have been more commited to my faith, been more giving of my time an resources to others, that my life is greatly improved.

  • @JBTG33 i dont pretend to explain things, i live in doubt which surely is the way to live since we are only human. i believe there is a force, supernatural or too complex fro humans to understand presently that can explain existance but to believe in christianity as a total answer is just plain childish, to be as reckless to say "this is the answer" when you have no evidence, surely we are smarter than that. in my opinion being an atheist is just as pathetic as believing in a main religion.

  • @hellohello66666 So do you believe that Jesus was a man who lived on this earth. Or are all the bible writers conspiring to ...... (I'm not sure what).....to mislead us into ....being good people?.......do you think the bible is a hoax, or is it just not reliable?.......and in the absence of absolute fact, we should just do as we please (steal, rape, cheat, lie)....because if there is no God...."wrong" is just a matter of opinion.

  • @JBTG33 i have an advantageous position of being brought up with prents who dont believe in god, thankful to say i dont murder or steal despite not reading the ten commenments when i was little. i also believe that people 2000 years ago had the same motives and desires for power that humans do now, and they were probably less moral. Why cant you be as critical as i am towards the bible, im not making one sided arguements here, im asking the questions that you would ask in a strange religion

  • @hellohello66666 You didn't answer my question....was Jesus a hoax, or did he really live on this earth 2000 years ago?

I fully understand that non believers can be good people, the difference is you operate under your own set of rules.

I believe in one God.....there are many ways to that one God.....maybe Jesus isn't Gods only son (or daughter) maybe there are many "messengers"....If there is one God, we believers are all after the same thing.....and if we are wrong?...what's the harm?

  • @JBTG33 yeah he probably lived, and im sure was an inspiration, maybe a good speaker. however theres a lot of evidence to say that jesus was made up, since horus the eqyptian god had sooooo many similarities, and more than likely since no one who ever wrote in the bible ever met jesus

  • @beandick3 ...to answer your question, no I'm not retarded....I have a BA in Business, have run small business', currently teach Math, and have never been unemployeed a day in my life.....I'm no Edison, but I work hard, take care of my family and like to help others.

  • @JBTG33 ok congratulations

  • The bad thing about social programs, is eventually you run out of other peoples money....M. Thatcher

  • America uses 40% of its budget on weapons.

Americans will happily pay taxes so that weapons can be made, but taxes so that people can get healthcare? Fuck no.

    :)

  • Yes you have good healthcare, not great healthcare. And only if you have money. If you dont, then you better get your stitches done at home. As the richest country in the world, responsible for a quarter of the global economy, you have the 37th best healthcare system, right behind Slovakia at 36. There is a serious flaw somewhere.

  • I Agree. But the government fix the flaw?....I have serious doubts about that.

  • @fdama We have excellent HC in the U.S......it's always people from other countries doing the complaining.....And NOBODY is turned away at the ER....regardless of their ability to pay.....heck, women from Mexico come across the border when their water breaks....free delivery and "citizenship" for their baby!.....wooohoooo.

  • @fdama

but here in slovakia doctor will never refuse you if you are sick and dont have any money.. and I suppose that slovakia should be higher in this table .. thats my opinion..

  • ER room patch ups does not count as healthcare. You are stupid if you think American health care works and are fooled by the profit making health insurance companies.

  • The ER is not healthcare? OK.Thesystem needs fixing, let me know what the government has "fixed" any time in recent history. and "how do we pay for it"?.....nobody is concerned with either question....."just do something!" "change!"

Capitolism does works, we have an insurance problem. We go to the doctor, and we are not concerned with how much anything costs because "we don't pay for it".....not true, we are paying up the nose.

  • If your government can't be trusted with the healthcare of the nation - free, equal, and on demand from precradle to grave, so we NEVER have to worry about it, EVER - then you should get rid of your government. Care of the sick is a basic requirement of civilisation. Come to think of it - since your government have brainwashed, misled, impoverished and discredited a nation of basically decent people, and sent your kids to die in an illegal, unnecessary war, you should get rid of them anyway.

  • @BumbleBeeInABluebell funny how congress has a different retirement and health care plan than the rest of us, isn't it?.....wonder why?

  • no - ER is not 'healthcare' as we know it. You can't even begin to imagine what NHS healthcare covers. (Basically EVERYTHING.) The benefits of it are too many to go into in 500 characters, but 5 generations of my family have now used it, and I am happy to list the benefits in a private message, if you really want to know what you're missing.

  • @BumbleBeeInABluebell Will you spit in his eye when he's performing a bypass on your fat heart? What you're mistaking for capitalism is actually corporatism. The ambulance comes and gets you whether you have healthcare insurance or not. You get intensive care whether you have insurance or not. Gee, you're weird.

  • @DrStrangebomb1993 He's right, though.

That Doctor has no place being a doctor if he's going to abandon people without insurance.

Yes, A&E (or emergency rooms as they're called in America) are required to stabilise people, but it doesn't change the fact that people do turn down care because of the cost, and that in so many areas the American healthcare system is fundamentally flawed.

As far as I, or any Brit, is concerned, healthcare is a right from the cradle to the grave.

  • I remember when I went to Spain one time I ate way too much good food that I got a stomach ache (later learned it was just gases) . An ambulance came for me took me to the ER, they did urine, blood tests, xrays, doc exam, gave me pills for the gas, all that excellent care for a whopping $100USD, and only because I had no ID on me. Here in America, just the ambulance runs over $380.

  • That's because here in Europe, doctors exist to heal, not steal.

  • hey I'm happy you had those really good treatments in spain because I'm actually from Spain! yes we can consider ourself very lucky in europe, I hope our system will improve even more and that it last for years and years.

  • This shits halarious this is one of the only things I've laughed until I cried at!!!!!

  • free medical dude. you pay personal doctors over there. freedom, it's great that people can go out and do whatever they want. even if tax payers paid for that shit, it's about 1/100000 of a cent out of your pocket.

  • lmao knob!!

  • accidents happen. i think the point he was trying to make was that little mishaps like this happen all the time and that no one should profit from stupid behaviour.

  • so if a british guy who lives there did something stupid, are you saying he shouldn't receive free benefits?

  • Crazee liburels wif yor intelajunt filminology.

  • with a brain like that you could be the next Republican presidential puppet.

  • Do you follow sarcasm Mr. TherealMuddyZombie?

  • Lol! He's obviously joking :P

  • Everyone: I wrote a letter to my congressman, urging him to improve our health system, and I haven't lived in the US for 4 years (though still a US citizen). If I can do something, so can you. If you walk out of Sicko hoping that you'll get better health care, but then do nothing, then you will have wasted the momentum created by this film. We must act now if we want change!

  • Thats true man i said something like that to my friends as we walked out of ferihite 9/11 but mine was more immature and destructive.
