For still shots use a sturdy tripod & Manual mode. Set ISO to 400 or 800. Set the shutter speed between 0.6 and 0.3 seconds. Set the timer to 10 seconds. Set manual focus to infinity. Point it at Jupiter. Zoom to a full 35X optical zoom or toward a 140X digital zoom if you prefer. Keep Jupiter inside the center rectangle on the LCD to reduce distortion. Tighten the tripod head. (You will have to readjust every 2 or 3 shots.) Press the shutter release and don´t move. Best Wishes.
Thank you for the comment- I have taken a few stills, but the moons are not as clear as the video and I think I should be able to do better. Its quite difficult holding things at 140x. If I do get a shot I'll post a link here- Stephen
Thanks for this and sharing the settings - I have just got this camera and am really excited to see what it can do. All the best Stuart.

First time I've seen other moons videotaped without a telescope. Very nicely done! Did you also make pictures?

Astronomy Science:
Page 1 - A 140X lens is called a “telescope.” It makes distant objects appear close.
Page 2 - This particular telescope is attached to a camera.
