I vote Charmander. You know, the whole lack of good fire types in-game, and the whole, Fire Red GBA game symbol is Charizard. Plus a good FLY poke as well :P

It's a good point, although I got enough votes for other pokemon, so I've got my starter picked and my full team planned. I've compensated for the loss of the fire and flying type with 2 extra types on top of the fire and flying :P

I wasn't too worried about brock either way :p if I didn't get chrmander to the level where it learns metal claw, I would have already trained a pokemon like nidoran or mankey to learn a fighting move.
