Jesus isn't against all wealth, just excessive. He dwelt in Capernaum along the sea. That is He lived in waterfront property in a town that had palm trees & tropical foliage. He enjoyed eating & drinking & the company of people so much He was accused of being "a glutton & a winebibber, a friend to tax collectors & sinners." He loved sunrise beach picnics, wildflowers & little kids. Mary Magdelene deeply loved Him. Nonbiblical gospels claim this is mutual.Together forever now in His Kingdom!
If Jesus came to Earth right now, he would be so embarrased of what has become of his flock, a bunch of self-aborbed, arrogant, materialistic, self-indulged, shallow and clueless society. And for people like bigot Wright, I'm sure God has something special for them.
Peter, James and John look like they ran a commercial fishing line. Matthew was a tax collector. Jesus probably retired from Carpentry. In Acts the followers sold their properties and gave to the disciples. It did not mention they went broke. It is okay to be rich, but don't be greedy. It says " Blessed are the poor in spirit". A certain Church said the partial phrase in order to take as much money as they can
Oh, here's another question, Ray. Would Jesus want the poor to have health care, regardless of where it came from - or whether or not they deserved it? Or is that question to inconvenient?
How long did it take you to make this video?? I retired from video uploading and the ones I did, which only involved pictures, not video, took me at least an hour to put together and time the pictures to match the lyrics as much as possible. It looks like this took HOURS to put together!?! This song originates from 1987 about the televangelist scandals of the era.
The song was nominated for a Grammy during the 1988 ceremony. It was in the "Comedy Recording of the Year" category.

Having pastored Baptist for 36 years, I have come to love this great song! LOL! Unfortunately, the awesome message is not heard by many today.

Those are not His flock. Those are goats hidden among Jesus Sheep. One day He will separate the goats from the sheep.

To Brheas, I've loved Ray since I was a little girl but I don't like the tone his latest songs have taken. Our politics are clearly vastly different.
