It's sad to think that people forget what, where, and, who Halifax is. We were the gateway to the rest of the countries in the North America. When the britts came over they most likely landed in the port city of Halifax.
Canadians have this weird thing where people treat eachother as they'd like to be treated, and so everyone as a whole is a lot friendlier to eachother, hence less crime, less violence, etc....
Now I will admit the white population is pretty high, but I've never experienced or heard of any kind of racist activity. I grew up in Nova Scotia and now live in California, it's a difference of night and day in terms of how people act..
@nightmathzombieethan Actually crime is high in Halifax last year there were 68,000 violent crimes in halifac with a 300,000 populaton. While in New York they had 171.000; and New york has a population of 28,000,000 people. Look at the ratio.
really you're from there, I'm seriously considering moving to halifax i've never been going for a vacation in september i have two children and we hate ireland where we're from as the weather is rubbish i want somewherre hot in summer cold in winter would you recomend it as a good place for children?
Hope you had a nice time in Halifax ..I think the metro Halifax area is a great place for a family but you have probably made your own decision if you have been to visit :)
@routex7044 well im not the movie maker but I have been to halifax. Being a 13 year old child I have to say that it was one of the best times of my life. If your moving to halifax there are two places you might want to consider living. Peggys Cove and the metro area. Mind you te snow stroms out there are brutal so you might want to get a snow blower not a shovel! Good luck!
