Betty White is one of those very rare ladies who was ALWAYS very pretty no matter what age she was. That's one reason she could continue to act well into her 80's.
Betty's voice and mannerisms are just the same 30 years later on the Golden Girls. And she is absolutely gorgeous - that smile! Just goes to show, she's always been lovely. I really liked this sketch!
This originated from KLAC-TV's (now KCOP) facilities in Los Angeles, as the original live version was first produced there locally in 1952. All Betty and producer Don Fedderson did was adapt the same production values- a single set for each "incident", with more emphasis on character and dialogue- on film, and it was just as succesful as the "live" edition...
It is pretty amazing to see them make so much out of so little. Compared to the over the top slapstick of I Love Lucy, this is character based and dialogue based comedy, not necessarily stereotypes and making faces at the camera. I am surprised and impressed that this occurred so early on.
@marshhen Thank you for a great comment! In addition to everything you said, this show was produced at an affiliate station. I'll be uploading another episode very soon.
The announcer/narrator was (the late) Jack Narz. Incidentally, during the first 10 seconds of the opening title, there was room for a sponsor I.D., if the local station used one...
This was the filmed version of Betty's live local TV show in Los Angeles; 65 half-hour episodes were filmed and syndicated between 1953 and '55. The way the series was structured, each "incident" could also be presented as ten minute episodes [195 in all].

This show demonstrates what could be done with a small budget in those early days.

This show certainly had some unique aspects as you have stated. There is also
Elizabeth's interaction with the narrator/announcer.

Del Moore was no slouch, either. He seemed to have worked constantly his whole career, to judge by the list on imdb.
