  • this girl is so cute :)

cette fille est vraiment belle :)

  • I think it translates to:

I think shes explaining to this dude at a bar that approaches her; that she doesn't recognize him. She explains shes not able to remember 'cause she's not herself right now...and asks him if hes into her. And then goes into this tiny jabber about how its all the same how people hook up. I think. I could be way off Im not that great. But its cute and catchy. And I like her shoes and stockings :)

  • Which I know makes no sense 'cause of the video but thats just what I hear.

  • you are about correct

omg the vid. is so amazingly great!

    prototypes are awesome

  • interesting note about this video. the director shot the entire thing with a 35mm film camera by lomography called the "oktomat". it takes 8 tiny pictures on one 35mm frame. i have the camera and to think about putting this video together with that camera is kinda crazy

  • awesome, man. seriously. that's some good trivia for The Prototypes

  • some fag said they stole the music from some horrible "rock" band.

no one knows what chord progressions are?

    everyone uses them.

everyone from the misfits and whitney houston have made songs with the same chord progressions

  • Haha C'mon man, everyone knows that in the world of music there are certain chord progressions that are catchier than others. they use it to make money. catchy tune though

  • Yeah. This particular chord progression seems to be rather common, soI guess I'm not surprised it showed up...again. At least it's in a good song this time.

  • I heard this in the Outlander commercial as well! and me loves it!

  • Damn those commercials and their catchy songs.

  • I know....the commercials are great!!!!!!! That's why I saved the song LOL.

  • @Nimr0ds lol true its only in america lol

  • It's so hard trying to find Indie Bands. Why do they all have to be underground?

  • Awesome! I heard it on the Mitsubishi commercial.

  • ça commence (It begins/starts)

    Toujours pareil (Always similar/the same)

    On s'embrasse (We embrace)

On boit un verre (We drink [literally "we drink a glass")

ça finit toujours pareil (It always ends the same)

On se dit qu'on se rappelle (We say that we recall.)

In response for an english translation of the lyrics. :)

  • I only have limited knowledge of french..but here it goes:

Je ne te connais pas (I don't know you)

    Yeah yeah yeah !

Je ne m'en souviens pas (I don't remember(?))

    Yeah yeah yeah !

T'es sur que c'est moi? (Are you sure it's me?(?))

  • fucking love this song! Vive la franco-pop!

  • fucking love this song!

  • je suis d'accord. Cette chanson ROX MON SOX!!!!

  • bonjour j'accord aussi. je suis mexican mais j'etudie francaise aux Etats-unis et je veux devenir amis avec vous. repondez s'il vous plait.

  • Heh, how many people only found out about this song via that one car commercial? I don't care; it's still going in my fave videos.

  • I did...

  • Moi...still, it's awesome. It just happens that Mitsubishi agrees. A French song on a commercial for a Japanese car--go figure.

  • I've said it before, pity all the rockin tunes are on car commercials! It's a travesty, New York City radio only plays stale "Dark Side of the Moon" or shake your ass, let's screw, youre so hot....

  • The story of my life! Here in Cinci, we basically have classical, classic rock, or (c)rap. Nothing awesome like this. That's why I never listen to the radio.

  • Tres bien...

  • I don't even know French but the beat is AMAZING... I LUV THIS SONG

  • well, the title means "I don't know you"...

  • Does no one else realize that the chorus sounds exactly like a translated, fuzzboxed version of that awful "She Hates Me" song by Puddle of Mudd?

  • Hahaha, it kind of does! Oh my gosh!

  • But it's French, and therefore better.

  • who gives a rat's derriere?!

  • this song is fucking awesome.

  • i heard the song is called i dont know you i think

  • Wow what a cool song. Can you say "Pixies influence?" This is something the Pixies would have recorded, if they were French, and if they had let Kim Deal sing more.

  • Now that's an interesting comment... had me thinking for a while, since i love the Pixies and the Prototypes, and i also love Kim Deal (her voice, the way she sings etc etc).

I'd say the singer is almost 100% different from Kim deal, and the music of the prototypes sounds a lot more simple and 'open'... But yeah, strangely you might have put your finger on something... It's true for instance "Into the white" could have been a Prototypes song, and so do the songs of The Amps.

  • This song is like totally kool! i first saw it on a mitsubishi outlander commercial and just instantly like fell in love with it

  • same here

    its an awesome song

  • J'aime la chanson, tojour tres attirante avec le style qui est donner par Prototypes. Just good stuff.

  • love it!

  • oh cool ive been looking for this song ever since i heard it on the mitsubishi commercial!!!! thank u yahoo answers!

  • ha 4reel? same here, i also found it in yahoo answers!

this song just makes me wanna learn french

  • did u post a question or did u find it off of my question??? My name on yahoo answers is Rubadubdub and i posted a question asking for this song

  • i think i found it off ur question

bcuz i google seached some stuff first

  • good song

  • tight song and i listen to 2pac...haha

  • people... if you're going to post in French, make sure you spell correctly. This is the real translation:

    I don't know you

    I don't remember you

    Are you sure it's me?

    Are you mistaken?

It always starts the same way

    we kiss each other

    we drink a glass

    It always ends the same

We tell each other that we remember.

  • Thanks for your translation...I took the one I posted below from a translation website service.

  • "Are you mistaken?" =>"Aren't you mistaken ?" (unless it sounds wrong in english, maybe ? :x)

"We tell each other that we remember" => 'Rappelle' here means 'recall' on the phone. An ok translation could be "We say we'll stay in touch".

  • you're right in thinking that "rappeller" means "to recall", as in calling someone back on the telephone. However, in the song, they use the reflexive form ( "se rappeller" ), which means "to remember oneself/each other" or "to recall", as in memory

"se souvenir" can also mean "to remember"

And yes, "est-ce que tu ne te trompes pas" literally translates as, "Is it that you are not fooling yourself?" In English, we would just say "Are you mistaken?"

  • god they rule

  • 3 thumbs up

  • <33

  • Jai taime!

  • learn to speak/spell French!

    J'ai t'aimé

even that doesn't make much sense, it might be better to say "Je les aime"

  • je les aime makes no sense actually

  • je les aime = I like them

J'aime la chanson = I like the song

    j'ai t'aime = I have liked you

which one out of those doesn't make sense as a comment...

  • sry but they all make sense. "i have liked you" is just past-tense :D

  • "j'ai t'aime" doesn't exist. "Je t'ai aimé" sounds right.

Also "aimer" means "to love", whereas "to like" = "aimer bien".

    I like you : Je t'aime bien.

    I love you : Je t'aime / Je t'adore.

  • *Buzzer sound*

the more common use of the verb aimer is to like, in any french-english dictionary that will be on the definitions list. Plus, "aimer bien" would just mean "to love/like very much".

  • heh... i'm french -born and raised in france and pretty fluent in my mother tongue- but thanks for teaching me ~~

You see "definitions lists" are just that... lists. Sure they're convenient, and your definitions aren't "wrong" but they not the most comon. Really :)

  • it's je t'aime /jeh tehm/

  • dude im learning gimmie a break

  • fantastique

  • This video doesn't do the song justice. i would have done something like with kids screwing around getting in trouble pissing peolpe off, or flying around in a F-16. something thats a little more fun.

  • I thought so too but it would help if I new what the HELL she's saying

Does anybody have the lyrics in english????

  • I did a translation to English...this is what I got:

    I do not know you

    I do not remember it

are you on that it is me

    you deceive not

    ca begin the always similar

they embrace each other...they have a drink

    ca finish the always similar

they tell themselves that thay rapelle

  • I get : I do not know myself yeah yeah yeah! I do not remember it yeah yeah yeah! be to you on it is me yeah yeah yeah! is what you are not mistaken yeah yeah yeah! that starts always similar one embraces oneself a glass is drunk that finishes always similar one thinks that one remembers . My translation isnt much different.
  • I guess that makes some sense its just it doesn't tie together with the video, the song sounds like so much fun.

  • godly song

  • Great song and very sexy. Very much puts me in the mood.

  • i wanna have sex with this song

  • will there be a dvd?

  • is there a better version of this video anywhere?

  • i think it was shot this way i think its the style of the video old ventage video?

  • is there a better version of this video anywhere?

  • i mean the guitar sounds familer

  • the guitar spunds familer

  • i love it.

  • amazing.

    j'adore. <33

    french is an incredible language.

  • je ne te connais pas

    je ne m'en souviens pas

    t'es sur que c'est moi

    est-ce que tu trompe pas

    ca commence toujours pareil

on s'embrasse on boit un verre

    ca finit toujours pareil

on se dit qu'on se rapelle

    (repeat)

  • Very sexy! The music and the way French women speak. I'd like to see my favorite French actress, Emma de Caunes, dancing to this song in one of her movies. Fantastique!

  • long live to red panties!

  • § fantastique! §

  • oh...we have sung this song in french^^

  • They rock my neon red socks! HARD!
