So lowering taxes on the poor is Stalinist "redistribution of wealth" what does that make lowering taxes on the rich? American conservatives are fine with redistribution of wealth so long as it's to the people who already have plenty!
Glen Beck doesn't know anything about economics AND he has no idea what communism is, even though he talks about it all the time. He just accuses everyone he doesn't agree with of being a communist so that he doesn't have to come up with actual arguments to defend his point.
The attempted insult just reflects badly on Beck, to be honest. To compare someone to Stalin, simply for advocating slightly-more-progressive taxation, is hysterical and ignorant.
Never in a million years i thought Beck is right, never, but on this issue, he is right. Thats all these Proffesors teach, Communists, Marxists, Lennists, Socialists Ideas, why?...what happen to American History, American Values?..Why is it NEVER TEACH at Universities?...he is right on that one.
@breedofthe45 capitalism is the first and foremost thing that is being thought in economics/business on any university. Neither you nor Beck have a clue what you're on about.
Glenn is absolutely right. It is highly Stalinistic to redistribute wealth through excessive taxation. Who says I have any immediate duty whatsoever to give the money I work 16 hours for to PAY MY BILLS over to somebody who doesn't work at all.
And stop bending over and taking it up the ass because some fucking clown graduated from Harvard. Pathetic liberal bullshit.
@TimothyADonaghue Really egocentric. Poverty is a cicle. This is not about redistributing wealth to lazy people. One of the democracy's goals is to take people who work, out of poverty and this is what took us out of the medieval age where the poor were slaves...
Someone graduated from Harvard knows much more than Glenn, the clown
@TimothyADonaghue Yes, taking money from some and giving it to others is socialism, but that's not what he said retard. He said he is in favor of giving poor people tax cuts, or stated another way, letting people keep more of their own money. You're dumber than Beck.
@TimothyADonaghue Wow... Tim - no doubt you think the "Ground Zero Mosque" should not be built eh? Now that sort of lack of religious freedom IS Stalinist.
'The Cheating of America: How Tax Avoidance and Evasion by the Super Rich Are Costing the Country BIllions' by Charles Lewis and Bill Allison (William Morrow 2001).
There is a store that brings in one million a year. Under the Obama tax plan, they will have an increase of $200,000 in taxes. Is the company going to pay these taxes? NO! The business will pass it on to the consumer, and their employees. Prices on merchandise will increase, and the business will downsize to make up for any losses. And you wonder why unemployment rates have drastically increased since Obama was in office =)
Under Obama's tax plan, the rich (The successful) are getting massive tax increases, and the poor are getting tax breaks. How is this going to solve our economic crisis? Punish the successful, and reward the people who don't work, who don't pay taxes, who have no interest in getting a decent job. How does stealing from the rich, and giving to the poor help our economy? It doesn't.

What is wrong with giving to the poor? The rich have money, because they work hard for it, Obviously. The poor don't have money, because they either don't work or have no moral values, or motivation to actually try and make good money. Here is an example: If you own your own house, you work your ass off to pay the bills, and two people you don't know rented a room from you. Do you think it would be fair if they didn't have jobs, and just lived off of you?
The poor dont have money because they have no moral values? really? If that is what you believe then I have a question or two for you. 1st: On what research and/or personal experiences do you base your opinion, that ALL poor people have no moral values? 2nd: Is being so ignorant really blissful?
I gave three reasons why the poor don't have money.
1. They Don't work.
2. And/or they have no moral work values.
3. And/or they lack motivation.
If you do carry those values, and work hard, then you wouldn't be poor. it. If you are not ignorant, and have an intellectual argument against mine, then why do you resort to cutting out a fraction of what I said, and criticizing it without anything to back it up. Typical Liberal comment.

1. They Don't work.
2. And/or they have no moral work values.
3. And/or they lack motivation.
This is a false sterotype. There are alot of people who work for minimum wage and work hard to make ends meet, this does not mean they are not motivated, it does not mean they lack moral values, it also does not mean they dont work. your generalization is wrong period.
Typical left wing strategy... Again. "You're wrong.. I can't tell you why you are wrong.. But you're obviously a right wing extremist, so you're just wrong."
If my stereotypes are wrong, why the hell don't you tell me what would be right? You don't have an answer? Very typical...
I could very easily just give up, quit my job, and/or get a low paying job. Wouldn't that be nice? But I have bills, and I want nice things. That is what motivates me.
I have never had financial problems, untill I moved out. I lived with my parents untill I was 18, and got my own house. My father owns his own business, which he worked his off for. High work values is a part of my family's tradition. I work two jobs, I pay for my own house, and I go to school.
Two of my good friends had moved in with me a little over two years ago. Neither of them had jobs, but they gave me their word, if I let them stay with me a month, they would find jobs and help me with my bills. It never happened. They both lived off of me for 5 months. I kicked them out. They had no intentions of finding a job, because they are just like the majority of Americans who don't have jobs. They want to sponge off someone, or the government.
How can you claim that ALL poor people dont work, have no moral values, and/or lack motivation based on one experience you had? You dont think thats a little ignorant? BTW not all people have the opportunities you have had. Not all people's father built their own business from the ground up, thereby inspiring their children's work ethic. Think before you act/react
As a conservative, I believe that all people were created equal with the same equal opportunities. Success is out there. Go get it. I had the same opportunites everyone else had. Nobody gave me or my father anything. In America, anyone can become prosperous. People from all over the world come to America and prosper. That is what makes our country so great. Anyone can make it here, if they want to. Please explain why all people in America do not have the same opportunities. I am very curious :)
You are missing the point. You stated that ALL poor people, ALL POOR PEOPLE are exactly like your two friends that screwed you. That just isnt true. As far as my opportunities comment....do you honestly believe that someone straight from the ghettos will have the same opportunities you have had? If you do then you are as delusional as Glenn Beck and just as insane.
do you honestly believe you would have had your drive and work ethic if your father hadnt built his own successful business? I think not, I think his example inspired and drove you to succeed for yourself and for that kudos to you. but to say that ALL poor people are etc, etc, etc is absolutely ignorant.
I never said all poor people were just like my two friends. I said they were like the "majority of Americans who don't have jobs".
Do people that live in Ghettos have the same opportunities as I did? In America, we have Immigrants who come here, and become Doctors... Matter of fact, my doctor is an immigrant, from India. People from other countries who prosper in America, had less opportunities than anyone here. The only difference was Motivation, and moral values.
You are brainwashed! Get your head out of your ass.
The Obama Administration wants you to think that you can't make it, because if you think you can't make it then you will agree with his socialist, communist policies. Government control is not the answer. Everything the government siezes control of and runs, always fails. I can't think of one thing that hasn't failed. Can you?
Read what you just wrote...I think you are the one brainwashed. Listen...just live and experience life for at least another 15years and maybe you will look back and realize how misinformed you were, because you are woefully misinformed. The crap your spouting now is straight out of the biased media's mouth. Be it fox, nbc, cbs, or msnbc they all have their own agendas.
My friend I am an Economics major. The healthcare system is a mess, the tax cuts to some of the wealthiest americans provided by the last administration is absurd. The free market has proven to be ineffective with out some government intervention. Just look at history. Health Insurance companies are price gouging, that's why we need the govt option! We need checks and balances, it needs to be 50% government and 50% priviate sector in order to be effective. Trickle down economics does not work!!!
WOW! Do you even read your comments? You said ALL poor people...THAT is what set me off. You generalized ALL poor people. And with the opportunities comment....You keep bringing up immigrants, it is actually easier for an immigrant than a native, especially a native living in a negative environment such as the projects and ghettos of our country. Because nobody cares about anyone but themselves anymore, this not in my backyard, not my problem mentality has to stop.
You seem to post alot of right wing "mumble gumble" I could go into detail but I am not going to get started. You see I consider myself a Conservative Democrat. I like bipartisanship. This seems to be what we are lacking in congress. The right extremist are constantly attacking the president and his agenda rather than working with him in an bipartisan effort to put this country back on track. I guess they would rather play politics instead. Trust me the American people are getting very tired!
Extreme socialism, and large government is going to lead to the deterioration of this country. You can say what you want to say, but if you compare America to any other country in the world. You can see very clearly that our middle class is much more prosperous. The free market, free enterprise system and capitalism has got this country to where it is today.
This administration is going to spend us into destruction. Even like it is today, our economy is still the strongest in the world.
Why is our economy the strongest in the world? Because every other country has submitted to Socialism, large government, nationalized health care, and every other policy the obama administration wants to enforce. This is not what makes us the "Unique" America that we always have been.
Hey guess what? Our economy is not the strongest in the world right now. And your not going to beleive why. Guess. Lets see, hmm? 8 years of failed economic policies enforced by your party under the Bush administration, a war started in Iraq that cost tax payers billions. You guys have the nerve to talk about spending? You kidding me? Oh I get it ,spending is okay when it is convenant for the right, but oh man when the left starts to spend look out.
By the way, War was not Bush's fault, and I stood behind it 100%. I don't think any other president could have dealt with any better. If the mainstream media wouldn't have been so bias, Bush would have had a lot more recognition for everything he did. He freed over 50 Million people.
If you look back in history... You will notice a decline in the economy after every war, not just the War On Terrorism. It wasn't Bush's fault, he got dealt the wrong cards. But did a damn good job.
If Obama is so very worried about the Auto Industry, why isn't the dealerships getting their money for "Cash For Clunkers"? As of right now, the vast majority of dealerships are paying the individuals$4,500 out of pocket. Are you aware that the same dealerships are now holding cars, and/or making people sign contracts that "If the gov backs out on refunding their money, the dealership can come take your car back"?
So I see you want to debate me on health care. I'm certainly up for the challenge!when you my friend can give me a justifiable reason of why it is okay for the right to attack the presidents proposal when millions of Americans are uninsured... Our current health care system is a mess. Lets talk about the health care system in Switzerland, where the gov moniters the insurance companies to prevent price gouging. Do you think it is fair for insurance companies to charge outragious rates?
My health insurance is $70 a month. I don't see anything outrageous about that, considering that if anything bad actually happened to me and I ran up a bill at the hospital for $20,000, it would be paid for. I was in a car accident 2 years ago, didn't get hurt, stay maybe an hour. It cost 2 thousand dollars. Do you think it's fair for the insurance company to pay that out of pocket? What about their employees? They have to profit somehow.
Speaking of my phone bill... The government already owns 60% of our auto industry, the largest bank in the nation, their trying to run health care... Why don't we just let them run everything??
The gov did a wonderful job running medicaid, medicare, SS, and cash for clunkers.
Wait... Didn't Medicaid, Medicare, and SS go bankrupt?
Didn't cash for clunkers run out 4 months worth of money in 5 days? LOL
You really want those people to run our health care?
Okay thanks, now I am going to just reiterate what the president has clearly stated; "For thoes of you who oppose me let me ask you this, should I have just let the banks fail?"Should I have let the auto industry collapse when it is the backbone of our economy?" Logical conclusion: auto industry collapses, recession turns into depression + adds to the job loss." hmm so what should I do?? My favorite qoute. "There are many eager to opose me but when are they going to start offering solutions?"
Should he have just let the banks fail? Should he have just let the auto industry fail? First of all, Ford didn't take a bail out, and they're fine. GMC and Chrystler took bail outs, and went bankrupt. And it wasn't like Ford did much better than GMC, because they didn't, they were both competing for first in Auto sales. The bail outs and stimulis package was about power, not helping the economy. The stimulis was written by the apollo alliance, communists.
I love economics, as I can apply it to anything!! The right raves about the cost of fixing a economy on the brinck of destruction that they helped along with a few democrats destroy. I ask both sides to consider the opportunity cost- defined as the highest valued alternative sacrificed. What should we give up? Jobs, homes, food, transportation, exc. Or the amount of money needed to repair this economy in ruins? The cost of doing nothing will reek devastation for year to come I promise.
You're making no point at all. Sure, I agree with you, Bush contributed billions to America's debt, but Obama has contributed "Trillions" in such little time. How much more spending awaits? Do you know the difference between billions and trillions?? Bush's economic policies were not failing, he went through a war. Every war in history, if you know your history, caused our economy to fall many times.
Ok muddpuppy :) Let's say I inherited my work values from my father. How do you explain the people from the poorest of the poor families, who become successful, rich doctors, lawyers, and so on?
Mmm, Obama, the sweetest flesh. I imagine that his skinny fat tastes like tuna rolls with avocado. Sliced Obama served in a stew of Mr. Beck's sour cerebral fluids would make for a fine political debate in my lower intestine. I will make them into political poop, poop you can believe in.
Explain to your audience how exactly the poor do not pay taxes. Everyone has social security, so the Glenn Beck argument doesn't even stand upright. Moreover, its taxpayer money that funds it.
The poor, that work, only pay payroll taxes, FICA,(Social Security). SS is a benefit that you get back when you retire. Also, with EIC, (Earned income credit) you get back WAAAY more than you pay in at tax time. Now I pay taxes. I work my ass off and earn 88k year. I make too much to get EIC. I pay 33% in federal taxes, 6% in state income tax along with FICA.
the rushie neocons are sooo much like killers charlie manson and jefferie dahmer that i confuse the three ... they stack the odds against you .. take your job ... when gasoline got to nearly $5/gal ... as the gas price was rising and you complained about making ends meet ... the rushies were in contact with the communist chinese discussing their job competitiveness with the cheap state subsidized gasoline ... diabolical ... the neocons spend $400M+ for show biz talk shows to dupe the dopes
it's hilarious that giving money to the poor is "wealth redistribution," but subsidising the ultra-wealthy is just sound economics. giving money the poor is not just charity, it's also good economic policy. money in the hands of the poor creates more economic activity than giving it to the rich. that's just a fact. beck always acts like a child and treats his guests as if they're morons he just dragged in off the street. he should at least show some respect even if he disagrees.
Actually this is ridiculus. I actually found out that the guy is former alcoholic and drug user that turned "christian" or whatever. Nice, this fits perfectly with the good Samaritan story. So, helping someone in need is becoming a communist e? Seriously, what is wrong with you people? And do you have any idea who Jeff Frankel is?? He is one of the best known international economists(along with Paul Krugman). Get some education and stop watching Fox news day and night, its rotting your brains...
Speaking of idiots...do you own a mirror? The poor do not pay taxes. Harvard is a liberal university. At all liberal universities you learn nothing but garbage on economics. Get a clue dumb ass.
So what is wrong with taxing the rich people and redistributing wealth??? It happens to all the western countries apart from the US. The funny thing is that the US is almost the most religious country, yet i don't understand how you are supposed to be a good christian and let poor people starve to death? Don't forget that poor people were suffering before 1917 in Russia and eventually they rose and chopped the heads of the rich people. If history is a guide, you should think again your opinions
What is wrong with redistributing wealth?.plenty, when you take money away from those who busted their ass to make it and give it to people who are too lazy to work hard and make it...what incentive is there to try and do well, or invest or start a business which in turn creates jobs. No one is saying to let the poor starve. BTW so what if he was a former alchoholic? He is the first one to admit that which he does regularly...the key word is former...He picked himself up and made something of it.
Glen is right on this one. Low income people don't pay an income tax. The payroll tax they pay is supposedly for social security which is state mandated retirement savings. The Harvard guy wants to tax the wealthy to pay for the retirements of the low income people.
Glen is right. By taxing the rich to give the poor is socialist thinking. And just because that dude is a Harvard Professor dosn't mean he's right or he knows what he's talking about. All he is doing is studying and researching his own ideas that he thinks is right. Simply put he is a Socialist, borderline communist.

Can you?
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago

Trickle down economics does not work!!!
guest144abc 2 years ago
It seems like the Obama Administration has actually succeeded at one thing though. Making a lot of the American people believe "We can't make it"
Congratulations Barrack Hussien Obama
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
Because nobody cares about anyone but themselves anymore, this not in my backyard, not my problem mentality has to stop.
muddpuppy300 2 years ago
Why are you dumping everything on the President of the United States? Wait.....did you think Bush did a good job?
muddpuppy300 2 years ago
You seem to post alot of right wing "mumble gumble" I could go into detail but I am not going to get started. You see I consider myself a Conservative Democrat. I like bipartisanship. This seems to be what we are lacking in congress. The right extremist are constantly attacking the president and his agenda rather than working with him in an bipartisan effort to put this country back on track. I guess they would rather play politics instead. Trust me the American people are getting very tired!
guest144abc 2 years ago
Extreme socialism, and large government is going to lead to the deterioration of this country. You can say what you want to say, but if you compare America to any other country in the world. You can see very clearly that our middle class is much more prosperous. The free market, free enterprise system and capitalism has got this country to where it is today.
This administration is going to spend us into destruction. Even like it is today, our economy is still the strongest in the world.
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
Why is our economy the strongest in the world? Because every other country has submitted to Socialism, large government, nationalized health care, and every other policy the obama administration wants to enforce. This is not what makes us the "Unique" America that we always have been.
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
Hey guess what? Our economy is not the strongest in the world right now. And your not going to beleive why. Guess. Lets see, hmm? 8 years of failed economic policies enforced by your party under the Bush administration, a war started in Iraq that cost tax payers billions. You guys have the nerve to talk about spending? You kidding me? Oh I get it ,spending is okay when it is convenant for the right, but oh man when the left starts to spend look out.
guest144abc 2 years ago
You're absolutely right. Look out lol
Obama has spent triple the money that Bush spent over 8 years. No reason to be alarmed though?
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
Bush over the course of 8 years = 3 Trillion+
Obama over the course of???= 7 Trillion and counting
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
By the way, War was not Bush's fault, and I stood behind it 100%. I don't think any other president could have dealt with any better. If the mainstream media wouldn't have been so bias, Bush would have had a lot more recognition for everything he did. He freed over 50 Million people.
If you look back in history... You will notice a decline in the economy after every war, not just the War On Terrorism. It wasn't Bush's fault, he got dealt the wrong cards. But did a damn good job.
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
If Obama is so very worried about the Auto Industry, why isn't the dealerships getting their money for "Cash For Clunkers"? As of right now, the vast majority of dealerships are paying the individuals$4,500 out of pocket. Are you aware that the same dealerships are now holding cars, and/or making people sign contracts that "If the gov backs out on refunding their money, the dealership can come take your car back"?
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
So I see you want to debate me on health care. I'm certainly up for the challenge!when you my friend can give me a justifiable reason of why it is okay for the right to attack the presidents proposal when millions of Americans are uninsured... Our current health care system is a mess. Lets talk about the health care system in Switzerland, where the gov moniters the insurance companies to prevent price gouging. Do you think it is fair for insurance companies to charge outragious rates?
guest144abc 2 years ago
My health insurance is $70 a month. I don't see anything outrageous about that, considering that if anything bad actually happened to me and I ran up a bill at the hospital for $20,000, it would be paid for. I was in a car accident 2 years ago, didn't get hurt, stay maybe an hour. It cost 2 thousand dollars. Do you think it's fair for the insurance company to pay that out of pocket? What about their employees? They have to profit somehow.
Hell my phone bill is $70 dollars a month lol
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
Speaking of my phone bill... The government already owns 60% of our auto industry, the largest bank in the nation, their trying to run health care... Why don't we just let them run everything??
The gov did a wonderful job running medicaid, medicare, SS, and cash for clunkers.
Wait... Didn't Medicaid, Medicare, and SS go bankrupt?
Didn't cash for clunkers run out 4 months worth of money in 5 days? LOL
You really want those people to run our health care?
TheScaryStuff 2 years ago
Okay thanks, now I am going to just reiterate what the president has clearly stated; "For thoes of you who oppose me let me ask you this, should I have just let the banks fail?"Should I have let the auto industry collapse when it is the backbone of our economy?" Logical conclusion: auto industry collapses, recession turns into depression + adds to the job loss." hmm so what should I do?? My favorite qoute. "There are many eager to opose me but when are they going to start offering solutions?"
guest144abc 2 years ago

The cost of doing nothing will reek devastation for year to come I promise.
guest144abc 2 years ago

The poor don't pay taxes dumbass.
label1877 3 years ago
Explain to your audience how exactly the poor do not pay taxes. Everyone has social security, so the Glenn Beck argument doesn't even stand upright. Moreover, its taxpayer money that funds it.
We all pay taxes. You pay taxes. I pay taxes.
jolly113 3 years ago
The poor, that work, only pay payroll taxes, FICA,(Social Security). SS is a benefit that you get back when you retire. Also, with EIC, (Earned income credit) you get back WAAAY more than you pay in at tax time. Now I pay taxes. I work my ass off and earn 88k year. I make too much to get EIC. I pay 33% in federal taxes, 6% in state income tax along with FICA.

I get nearly everything back, i am a part-time, under $5000/year employee, dont tell me im not in the "poor bracket"

the rushie neocons are sooo much like killers charlie manson and jefferie dahmer that i confuse the three ... they stack the odds against you .. take your job ... when gasoline got to nearly $5/gal ... as the gas price was rising and you complained about making ends meet ... the rushies were in contact with the communist chinese discussing their job competitiveness with the cheap state subsidized gasoline ... diabolical ... the neocons spend $400M+ for show biz talk shows to dupe the dopes
AgnesBojaxhiu2000 3 years ago
it's hilarious that giving money to the poor is "wealth redistribution," but subsidising the ultra-wealthy is just sound economics. giving money the poor is not just charity, it's also good economic policy. money in the hands of the poor creates more economic activity than giving it to the rich. that's just a fact. beck always acts like a child and treats his guests as if they're morons he just dragged in off the street. he should at least show some respect even if he disagrees.

Get a clue dumb ass.
label1877 3 years ago
So what is wrong with taxing the rich people and redistributing wealth??? It happens to all the western countries apart from the US. The funny thing is that the US is almost the most religious country, yet i don't understand how you are supposed to be a good christian and let poor people starve to death? Don't forget that poor people were suffering before 1917 in Russia and eventually they rose and chopped the heads of the rich people. If history is a guide, you should think again your opinions
akilleasUK 4 years ago
