Good point. Interesting problem. Maybe you can still do this by making your cutout first, then slicing off a nonparallel surface by push-pulling? Without providing more info about your problem, I (a newb) can only guess...
I've seen all of the GSU tutorial vids but I haven't really made anything yet. I want to go through all of the vids on the different GSU channels on YT first...
