Hi David, Thanks for the great intro to Lightroom! My question is this: What does it offer that some free online programs do not? Many of the photo editing functions ( if not all of them) can be found on flickr and picnic editing programs. Other than the filing and metadata aspect, I can't see the advantage. Could you shed some "light" on this?........sorry--couldn't resist! :-)
Hi, This is a great introduction Thank You - I have just purchased lightroom 3 and am a bit overwhelmed lol - Its a great program but im a bit perplexed as to how lightroom adjusted pictures are stored. I did some adjusting then wanted to upload to the net (ebay) and have no idea where to find them, the original is still in its file unajusted. I usually put my adjusted file on disc to print, do I have to do this from lightroom? but then I still have to know which pics are the adjusted ones
@jayceefoto -- To create an adjusted copy of your image use the Export command. Think of Export as "Save As" meaning to create a finished copy with a new name and a new location. This is the perfect way to create your little jpegs for ebay without permanently altering the original image. Likewise, you can use export to CD/DVD to create a disk of adjusted files.
Nice share.
