  • i agree with you , tony needs to wake up now damn !!! i wonder they rush cuz of bomb in world and very funnnnny they are ... that is ture for me and then simply tell them put off and if they dont want to then tony will do drop wont for write for them simlpy why not .... i wont never ever vote tony in my life .... how sad for tony damn !!!!!

  • How many people do you know that never had ASL and still don't use it? I'm one of those profound deaf since birth, who can hear with hearing aids only now CI, NEVER been exposed to ASL. I'm learning right now (con't)

  • @ButterfliesFireflies . I do not even know how you know sign language unless somewhere down the line, you wanted to be part of the deaf culture.I bet deep inside you are happy that you know ASL, especially if your family know it. I never had that. The key thing of ASL is the deaf child emotional well being. Most deaf end up taking up ASL.

  • Ella, a word to the wise. Watch how you come across. If you use derogatory remarks and labels such as calling Mendoza "Square" or "stupid" and labeling the supports of bill as OOOOO, you are really making yourself appear to be irrational. Use common sense and have courtesy towards those who oppose your vision. Do they call you guys names? I have not seen it so far. You guys want ONE option = ASL via Language Acquisition. Yet you guys are telling people that they want one option. Lie.

  • @gamaswanderings You know, if you actually practice what you preach with your approach/attitude towards Deaf people and ASL, I would appreciate your word better. You still believe in that incredible myth that the opposition so diverse wants only ASL? Tells a lot about you. I'm openly bilingual and so far u re only only only one option CI and English. Revealing, eh?

  • @ASLElla Fascinating tidbit gamaswanderings shares - She claims that she has more than one generation of ASL deaf in her family, yet she hasn't made a vlog. Something's very fishy about gamaswanderings/Candy. She finds it quite easy to do j'accuses while hiding behind her blog and the computer. Concerned Deaf people will show their faces while doing vlogs, have you done one yet, Candy/gamaswanderings?

  • @ASLElla Yes, you have said that yourself ASL/bi bi as Language Acquisition (LA)FIRST. Gain fluency in ASL, then add in other options such as CI/AVT/Cued Speech etc. That is not "choice". CI/AVT and ASL/BiBi both gives LA to all deaf children. Also, I was told the mtg DHH had with Mendoza and Polonko didn't come to agreement because you guys wanted ASL as LA first before allowing parents to consider other options. I'm not only for CI and AVT. No way, I am for ALLL Choice to be given out.

  • @ASLElla What's more...you all can ask to be part of brochure revision where you can add equal space that includes information on importance of LA for those who opt for ASL/BiBi. That way we have equal information even tho within the CA insert of the brochure does include ASL/bi-bi modality. Work with them and stop the name calling. At least be above reproach for your organization and not the other way around.

  • @gamaswanderings I can vouch that Ella is not for ONE option. I have a child with a cochlear implant. I am not for ONE option obviously. Access to a visual LANGUAGE from the start needs to be emphasized/encouraged (not mandated as it does not work this way in our country) and match/mix other options is perfectly WELCOMED. My ASL as L1 kid likes and is capable of oracy (Spoke English). Ella is fine with that, fyi!

  • @aslnikki I totally understand all that and I personally would have added ASL to CI myself. Totally understand . We need to keep that separate when it comes to putting the laws on the book. This part is where the information need to be in the materials - written/electronic. Get that part in the brochure and websites. The bill ensures all modalities are shared...that is all. We don't want audiologist to tell parents MUST use CI or ASL. We want them to let parents know of ALL

  • @aslnikki the bill should not be complicated. It should be simple as it is now. The meat of the options will be in the brochure. I suggest you include the importance of ASL/bibi language acquisition in equal space along with CI/AVT in the brochure. The bill does not indicate one preference over another. It does say why it was created. Parents are being told of ASL and not CI or Cued speech. Likewise parents have been told of CI and not ASL. Both are wrong.

  • @aslnikki want to add more. No, Ella is not for one option "over time" she is however dictating that all children be taught ASL first. DO NOT ADD OPTIONS yet!!! Wait. child become fluent in ASL? (how long will child be fluent before other option is added)? then add other optons. hmm OH, what about parents out there who's child is doing extremely well and they never used ASL? other parents will say, wait..I want that option!! They are entitled. That is my point.

  • Yes! Now deaf babies will finally be put on the right path toward the promised land that will give them the freedom, the independence, and optimal opportunity to be contributors to society.

  • @IronTeeth27 Tra la la.

  • Holism, what ever you do or say, you will never stop us. Keep doing that as it is moot on your part.

  • Holism is despicable. His comment of Wah! Wah!, perfectly examplifies the topic of John Warren's vlog.

  • @DeafArch Well we know him and his patterns. I just handed him a tissue and told him I understand. Smile.

  • Is this a celebration? No. Basically its crabs getting out of the bucket. Deaf babies will finally be raised by their parents, not special interest organizations. The communications all started when Visual Vlogs went shut down. Remember I was telling everyone i was going to do this. It worked for 47 assemblypersons and it'll work for 27 senators.

  • @IronTeeth27 Huh?

  • Parents of all newborns and infants diagnosed

with a hearing loss shall also be provided written or electronic

information on American Sign Language (ASL), Total

Communication, Cued Speech, and Listening and Spoken

Language communication options for children with hearing loss,

including, but not limited to, information about deaf and

hard-of-hearing organizations, agencies and early intervention

centers, and educational programs. The information shall be

    provided:

  • @deafnet1 Is This Bill create Equal to everyone rather than one ASL?

  • @deafnet1 Sigh. I hope you re asking out of sincere ignorance not malice. Nope this bill was created NOT out of equality for all choices. Nope. It was created totally in favor and for benefit of the OptionSchools (Only One Option, Oralism) with a big smiling Mask of Benevolence conning you and all they re for "options"

  • @ASLElla Prove it. You have not been able to do that yet. You dwell in the world of illusions and it shows.

  • @theHolism Its right there under your nose but I guess you are so hung up on keeping ur nose in the air under your own illusion you can't see it. Again I feel sorry and here's another tissue. Wow soiled so fast? That's ok.

  • @ASLElla Ha ha... did not know you had an ounce of sense of humor. Good to know. You ought to laugh more often.

  • @ASLElla Ella, your argument isn't logical. It was created because these parents were told NO to other options and YES to ASL only. They were upset that YOU people withheld information from them.

  • @gamaswanderings Please provide such said information to such said accusation before you accuse Ella of such thing.

As of now, it shows your modus operandus. Not cool.

  • @DBadvocate Evidenced is in Ella's vlog about NHSP reform. I have evidence. Stay tuned, it will show up in my blog soon. Ella and others have confirmed that they are not interested in letting parents get all information on every option including ASL. Their believe is that ASL should be introduced to ALL deaf babies first. But, parents do not want that. We need to respect parents right to choose.

  • @gamaswanderings No gamaswanderings, you will not hide behind a blog. You will show your face and you will sign. If you are true to your word like I am, you will vlog. This shows credibility when one does not want to make a false j'accuse. This is where you need to be careful about your blog, Candy, I have read it several times and there's quite a bit of misinformation. This is why I stopped following your blog.

  • @deafnet1 Yes, California Coalition aka DHH or CCASDHH only wants ONE option which is Language Acquisition via ASL. What they failed to understand is that parents are NOT OKAY with one option. They want information on ALLLLLLLL option so they can make decision THEMSELVES. Deaf think they know whats best for deaf babies, well, I've got news for ya...deaf w/ CI also think they know whats best for deaf babies too! Why complicate things? All is fairer and unbiased.

  • @gamaswanderings "Deaf think they know what's best for deaf babies", we know based from personal experience and it has been factual information based from both intellectual and emotional research.

What are you truly out to prove? Please do not make any more gross generalisations about people unless you wish to have the egg on your face.

    Tsk.

  • @DBadvocate And, there are research that contradicts what you're saying too. ;) The thing here is not one method works for all. That is why CHOICE is essential. Spoken Language should be respected along with Visual Language (ASL). What you fail to understand is that there are more than one generation of ASL deaf in my family, so I'm not "generalizing" as you would like to think.

  • @gamaswanderings Where is the evidenced research that contradicts what I am saying? I have posted vlogs that shows MY preference, I do not post showing the general population's preference. You need to be careful about making assumptions, Candy. I have 6, count them, 6 generations of Culturally Deaf family members. My nieces and nephews are the 7th Culturally Deaf generation. I still think you are generalising because my family and I do not use "spoken and visual" languages, we believe in ASL.

  • @DBadvocate My deaf family use ASL too. We're all culturally deaf. And I don't criticize or shun anyone who prefer spoken/listening or those who opt for other options. We are all deaf with different views and different preference.

  • @gamaswanderings You have criticized Ella amongst others and you claim you dont criticize/shun anyone who prefers spoken/listening or other options. Granted we all are Deaf with different views/POVs, this is where I must point out the flawed logic here.

  • @DBadvocate exactly what I said in my current video #21...so uncool to criticize minority and disabled groups while not educating the majority of minority/disabled groups' values. Gamaswanderings is "HEARING-MINDED" Yep.

  • @aslnikki Thank you for teaching me a new word today. I appreciate it very much. Namaste.

  • @gamaswanderings thank you for revealing how little you understand about AB 2072 and where the money goes concerning Deaf babies. We, not just CCASDHH mind you, but over 80 organizations including the statewide Parents of Deaf Children (IMPACT) understand clearly it's the bill's sponsors (and other supporters) are hiring FIVE lobbyists to keep the bill and they all are just about ONLY ONE OPTION and that is listening and talking WITHOUT NATURAL LANGUAGE. Who in the right Deaf mind wants that?

  • @ASLElla I am aware it is not just CCASDHH. I do have all the info. How are they about one option? They did not list one option but more than one option. Care to explain? You are saying Natural Language. But, if a parent choose listening/spoken, the spoken language is essentially natural language for human beings. You're dictating to parents what should be done. Many parents do not take to that very kindly. All options = more than one. ASL=one. Care to elaborate?

  • @gamaswanderings" if a parent choose listening/spoken, the spoken language is essentially natural language for human beings". Your are right, but to a limited sense. A deaf baby even with a CI has HOLES. Why delay natural language acquisition as the auditory channel is not perfect. Oracy and Signacy simultaenously CAN! A rewrite or a bit more tinkering is needed.

  • @gamaswanderings If you are smart enough, you would let US Deaf folks INCLUDING yourself meet IN PERSON FACE TO FACE, and rewrite the bill instead and cramping your neck looking up at the bottoms of OOOO Coalition, the non-signing MOB legislators. We will do a far far more fair and better job than they can EVER do! Believe me.

  • @ASLElla I would be more than happy to help with the brochure, but to re-write the bill when it covers ALL including ASL doesn't make sense. The bill is fine as it is. It is the material that will be used that need a bit of tinkering here and there.

  • @deafnet1 Thats what the bill said, yes. California Deaf and pro-Deaf/parents organizations who oppose this bill can read what's BEYOND those "innocent" wordings so can you. WHO give the info? WHO oversees the method and people who delivers info? Deaf People? Nope. Go study the bill more.

  • Also, I have sent a link to my lady in regards to the greed of the C.I. industry practise with the audiologist (kickbacks) whenever they convince a potential client for an implantation. I'll ask my lady to see if she has forwarded the link to you or not.

  • Ella, nice to meet you the other day via VP last week (hint: black fingernails :-D )

Well, I'm not throughly mesmerized (or fanatic as such a couple of people opposed to DBC/ASL Movement), however I feel compelled to state my opinion.

I have no objection to C.I. or "auditory assistance" because it worked for me. Of course, I'm acutely aware it does not apply to every single Deaf babies/kids/adults.

My only objection to this bill is the lack of emphasis on "ocular assistance," such as ASL.

  • Wah! Wah!

  • @theHolism Where is the support coming from you when you call us "brothers and sisters"? Is this support selective or you offer criticism much more than you offer support? This is a very serious issue that will affect your future generations to come.

  • @DBadvocate I support the bill. I support all communication options. I believe in freedom of choice. I believe in parental rights. Simple as that.

  • @theHolism I think it's great you support all communication options however you need to really look at your attitude and how you approach people. Freedom of choice does not entitle you to belittle other people's opinions and perspectives. The comment "Wah! Wah!" shows your maturity and IQ/EQ level.

  • @DBadvocate My attitude has nothing to do with this bill. Your side of fence is not without attitude either so why preach what you don't practice? Taking things personal is also a reflection of one's maturity. Who cares about IQ/EQ? Such thing were invented by men therefore they are disputable.

  • @theHolism IQ/EQ speaks a lot about a person and how he/she posts especially when it comes to controversial topics. Your attitude has A LOT to do with "Deaf-centric" issues because you go against the very same grain the Deaf community strives for. I practise what I preach therefore I am true to my word. I wish you well.

  • @DBadvocate I'm sure IQ/EQ speaks a lot about a person but it still does not change the fact that it's disputable. Still a product of men. I wish you well as well.

  • @theHolism You are correct that IQ/EQ does speak volumes about the person. I appreciate the fact that we are able to agree to disagree, thank you. Namaste.

  • @DBadvocate The statement on IQ/EQ was yours to begin with, not mine. I just know better than to try and defend it since it's a product of men. Be glad to agree to disagree any day. Cheers.

  • @theHolism, so what,...

  • @theHolism WAH WAH is your left over to use. Butt off!

  • @theHolism Heres my tissue. I understand.

  • @ASLElla You understand? If that's the case then it's going to be your first.

  • @theHolism FUCK YOU!

  • @xxilanimebestxx Thanks for the offer but I'll decline it.

  • @theHolism Fuck you! AGAIN! =D

  • @xxilanimebestxx Sorry. Not interested. Try somebody else.

  • @theHolism Sadly, I like hating you and I want to bother you like crazy! you are so hot, by the way. XD

  • @xxilanimebestxx Oh LOL... I understand. Ha ha... I'm fine with that.

  • @theHolism X3

  • Ella, move to one step ahead before Tony will not know what is your next plan. Move ahead and put all the information together to hear your oppose against this. I will keep praying for you guys. I know you all have long way to move one step to another step. Keep it up!

  • I guess the best thing we can do is don't worry about what hearing parents want for their deaf children. We should just focus on our rights to raise a deaf child, preserving ASL and culture, and our equal rights to employments, access, etc.

  • @FirefliesButterflies That is a very terrible thing you say about abortion on potential deaf babies. It is your thought mentality that may responsible in reducing Deaf population. Disgusting. I know you say this in anger, but still, bad comment to suggest a thing like that. I know Ella would rather keep on fighting for Deaf babies than to resort to aborting them. Is Deafhood about pro-choice? I think not. My suggestion? Remove comment. Only a suggestion.

  • Ella, that's disgusting! I am heartbroken- we cannot allow this to happen! Is there anyway that we can form a NATIONAL protest like DPN~ and march to ARNOLD's office?

  • @DragonflyQueen, white house would be a good place due perfect number of deaf people around,... (Obama can get to see us better)

  • @TheASLFire Amen to that!! Please count me IN. Opposed AB2072 MARCH.

  • I'm sorry to hear about the passing of the bill AB2072. I'm disappointed to see those who were involved with the bill didn't show some respect toward deaf by holding on the voting until the deaf be givien the chance to speak with interpreters provided. The bill is tooooo one sided toward the business and CI supporters. Whoever voted for it ought to be voted out of office in the next election. Ella, thanks for the updates.

  • unbelievable & digusting...yup Legal action!

  • Oh my goodness!! Nothing new.. But then I'm thankful for people like you keeping a close watch and alerting us as well as educating us on being more proactive and outspoken. This is upsetting to hear about this, I hope somehow we can stop this bill. Shame on these people who are not involving us in this process!!!

  • speechless,... my heart is broken. feeling like not a worth to live in usa!

  • @TheASLFire

Oh no, you are supposed to feel even more determined to stay in USA and prove those igorants wrong. Smile!

  • Thanks for share and i recently read article by Amy Cohen Efron at Deaf Read.... You folks can win on two ways... Legal Action or send letter to Senators.

  • @deafnet1 legal action is a must, send letters can but need to be very powerful & loud message, we DESERVE to be HEARD, period since They (Mendoza) already showed INJUSTICE!!

  • @deafnet1

Ah, here you are. Nice to see you giving some resources / inputs!

  • As for writing letters-only Californians? Or can they come from other states and country?

  • @skyxavier You should write and publicize this as much as possible and get in the mainstream media as well as on blogs/vlogs. Let them know there is disgust and anger at this injustice that's being seen not just with AB2072.

  • Sorry to hear about that , Should have to re- appeal to vote against the Bill , call all deaf clubs , all deaf communities , NAD , deaf schools , CODA , and many others to come at meeting for once with large number to vote against Bill AB2072 , or you can call Media on TV news, and newspapers to tell why AB2072 is not right for Deaf communities.. Don't quit your day Job?? but i know you are trying so hard .. keep it up !!!!

  • @DARTHASL Yes we are doing all of that. Yes can do more surely. His vlog is one example of getting the info out. We NOT giving up. It's the opposite. We are getting more and more upset at the injustice.

  • @ASLElla My guess.. that is not first time , you got upset .. there are so many lack of communication in many different ways like CI, police, interpreter problems , work places cannot hire because of deaf discrimation and so on , so many things are happening to us ( deaf people) anywhere in this world, how can this madness be stopped ?? now or never ?? damn it .. it is so damn long time since when ???

  • Got home about 30 minutes ago, checked e-mail and then came here at YouTube. Oh dear, I am so sorry for current and next generations - lessen child(ren)'s rights.

I have to admit that it is not really surprising. I think they were on intention and did so anyway.

I hope that people out there will request special advisory meeting for proper process and vice-versa, i.e. investigate for proper process by submitting findings and set up committee, etc. I am sure that that is next thing to do!

  • without an interpreter etc.. We need to object the rush of the bill being passed and leaving us out, and ignoring the petition and other Deaf. Express your anger, and do not be shy, and be blunt and yet be professional. Speak out in sign langauge.. Make your interpreters raise their voices loud! Majority rule oppresses, and the Minority do have the right to vote under the US Consitution!

  • @Bunjer There WAS an interpreter at very last minute. A very good one. Only for this one bill not for others. Requests for captioning were made but failed to be met. Want to be clear about that. They did request Mendoza to hold off bill to show more respect and sensitivity but he didn't. Bad bad mistake on their part!!

  • @ASLElla I still cant believe it all happened so fast. They are in rush to pass the bill in blantant disregard of the Deaf Community, and all future Deaf childen, and even all victims of today. I wonder that the US Consitution does have an Amendment somewhere, that indicates about the Minority having their vote, that represents a certain percentage. A voting ratio, and I am not sure how it works when any minority group comes in and take vote on part of any new bills being propsed?

  • With their hasty behavior, they knew the bill is not fair so they didn't care and rushed it anyway. They just know. It is up to us to unite and fight. Harder than ever.. Could be our most important ever. It is my understanding that it is for Califnornia, but it has the potential to impact the entire nation for both Deafs and parents(both Deaf and hearing)of Deaf babies

  • @DeafArch Agree totally and yeah national implications are there so it's not affecting just Californians. Better go check out your state's legislation. And also EHDIs. I understand It's up for re-authorization.

  • We pussyfoot too much, and guess what! We need to channel our energy and fight back hard! No more games! We need to get to the point and focus on the very issues and not be fooled anymore! We need to also on the other hand rush to push the CRPD Treaty to pass thru the Senate, but enure that we handle our own affairs as a Minority Group under the US Consitution and the upcoming UN Treaty! It is time to wake up, and kick urselves in the butt and move!

  • Thank for made statement announced, I knew about theyre doing on their on purpose, i cant cant believe about interpter had not show up, and assembly vote is too early! real shame..

  • Comment removed

  • It's so tragic that this situation has to arrive at such sheer ignorance.

You would think those brilliantly educated people would take in all sides before arriving at such drastic decisions that affects the future generations.

You, my dear Ella, are one of a kind leader and I am constantly humbled by your raison détat of Deafhood.

  • @DBadvocate

    Agreed, no question asked.

  • @DBadvocate Agreed that it would make sense if our educated legislators should be imtelligent and sensitive enough but it's not yet the case. Other factors are involved on their decisions including the lobbyists. I understand the supporters of his bill have total of FIVE lobbyists. Tells a lot about the amount of MONEY that's coming once the bill passes.

  • @ASLElla Yes, apparently for some people's greed and opportunistic needs, money does talk for them. Very sad.

  • Updated about AB2072 - We, Californians, need your help spread word...

  • Hey Ella, please give me address and email/phone of that person I can call him tomorrow morning and complain to him. It makes me sick of what I hear from your statement.. It makes me MAD! go Protesting!
