This team were enter the national training team at same time, that meet all the requirement. many videos show their training, .

No body know they can win in 2008 at that time.

@jhl2011 It was already proven that the 2000 team cheated, they admitted it. Its just a matter of time before the 2008 team come forward as well. The passports can be and probably were, forged. If they want to make it legitimate, use original birth certicates as verification, not copies, not any other form of identification.

First, they did cheat. A Chinese gymnast from 2000 games was stripped of her bronze medal when the IOC found evidence she was underaged at the time she participated. China confessed and apologized to the IOC and accepted the ruling.

Second, you clearly have no clue regarding the issue about age. Younger girls (14) have better balance, reflexes and more flexible than 16 y/o girls, giviing them an unfair advantage. The IOC rule book is crystal clear about the minimun age rule.

second, for your information, i actually do. i'm a gymnast myself. and it shouldn't matter on age, just how good you are. and if they had such an unfair advantage (IF they did cheat), then why do you think shawn johnson beat them on beam? or didn't place on floor?

Sometimes people look younger than their actual age. I'm 19 but (depending on my make up) most people think i look around 13 or 14. Younger even, someone thought I was 10 once.

because of the amount of work they do, young gymnasts don't develop at a normal age, just like any other athlete that trains that much. so chances are these girls are sixteen they just look too young. gymnasts either look like 5 years old or like apes so people should applaud them for not being as frightening as some of the american girls.

I wouldn't think they were underage because they're short, I would think they're underage just because of their body language and facial expressions. I know most gymnasts look younger than they are, but these girls look much younger than they are. I hope they really were 16, because they're very talented and deserved their team gold. But apparently they were cleared, so I guess we'll just have to believe them :)

even if the chinese gymnasts are underage, which I doubt they are, they're still good at gymnastics. Does it matter if they have to be 16 to compete? They're still gonna train just as hard but for longer which can not be too good because they may get worst injuries.

How did u.s. media report Phelps drug thing? They BRIEFLY reported it for 2 days (they had to report since the picture was already out);they emphased "it's 3 months after the olympic" to indicate that his smoking didn't have any thing to do with his medal performance. After 2 days, media was quiet. Before a thorough investigation was done, how can we be so sure about Phelps' cleanesss before the game? Reporting about Phelps is nothing compared with so-called Chinese "age issue" by u.s. media.

Uh, stupid? Phelps was smoking pot. Pot does not increase athletic performance. If anything, it decreases it. On top of that, he did it AFTER the games because he was celebrating at a party his gold medal record. The media was all over him for a month and he even lost sponsors because of it. 1 - the media DOES talk about phelps. otherwise, i wouldn't know so many details about what happened without caring about swimming and looking for that information.

2 - it's not about winning & losing, it's about following the rules.

3 - the gymnasts themselves aren't to blame, they can't help their horrible communist government's faults. but that doesn't change that their government IS doing things.
