  • funny how someone who normally talks so "flat" (unclear English to non-native speakers) can sing so nice and quite understandable.

  • grazie syst5253!!!:-)

  • Can someone tell me what he said in the first seconds of the video? Please help me! thank you.

  • @schiccina "Right trousers right, that's these things here, trousers. Tra! Tra-sers! That's trousers. I feel really weird standing here like this. I don't know who I feel like, but I know it ain't healthy!"

  • 80's Best Band.

  • Talk Talk is the beginning of music. Now music is basically booty trash. Why cant be music be of its quality and not what is inside the clothes?

  • i will agree with marty 9040, mark re-group and tour... your music is better than whats out there now

  • A question for an English native: what does "dum dum girl" expression mean?

  • girl 15

  • He has a sexy voice.

  • Living anothet world? music press and the other tubes obviuoly were. no way are TT so unknown, im glad they are not a household name, but give me break, they are Amazin.

  • on LSD whilst filming !

  • @argyleaddict Bullsh*t!

  • What a music from those days!

Talk talk and Tears for Fears are the best, even now Imho!

  • RIGHT TRAHSERS RIGHT

    ISS THESE FINGS ‘ERE TRAHSERS

  • Love thissss

  • Something amazing happens to the singer's face when he sings - the passion takes over, the concentration is focused like sunlight through a crystal, and I just don't want to look away. This is why musicians get... well, ahem, attention. In my estimation, anyway. I love this song...

  • @MBareiss And I love This Band my friend!

  • Mr Hollis. where are you?????/

  • instrumental track..live vocals..having fun..what a concept!

  • I landed on this video to see if there was any mention of the PBS show "Color Sounds". Yes, this song and a bunch of other eclectic videos (Julian Lennon, Loudness, The Firm and Alphaville to name a few) were on the "poor man's MTV" for those of us that didn't have cable.

  • Zlatan Ibrahimovic used to be a singer

  • that was fun-nice to see musicians not take themselves too seriously.

  • They spelled dumb wrong!

  • @Parkinish How do you know Dum isnt meant to me spelt Dum or Dumb to be Dum? Dont believe your own mind.

  • @Parkinish Hi...I actually look it up ages ago and "Dum Dum" not to confused with "dum-dum" is a rarely used phrase for a uneducated, lower class persons...maybe a "chav" but shy and unfortunate. "dum-dum" means some sort of artillary shell that didn't explode or is a dud, I guess.

  • @Annatizadell Actually, "dum dum" as it refers to artillery, is a bullet designed to expand on impact, thereby causing much more horrendous damage to the victim.

  • PBS used to air an educational show called "Color Sounds" with music videos with highlighted vowels in the lyrics. This was one of those videos.

  • Those shades he's wearing hides those expressive eyes.

  • talk talk is a phone and broadband company

  • @dudeuactuallykill437 NO!. talk talk is the band. The phone and broadband company are talk talk.

  • The bass lines in early talk talk songs sound amazing.

  • Mark, Paul, Lee ( Simon ) come back. Start a tour and make the people happy.

  • grandi......hanno lasciato il segno.

  • England looks a little chilly in June. Fun video. Love his smile after the Pink Floyd comment.

  • Talk Talk - wots to say about this great band!!!

  • I Love Mark Hollis...and Talk Talk....

  • talk talk and mark hollis are the shit!

  • I love the "How are ya? alright ?" I love talk talk

  • No decade like the 80s, before or since. There was a great spirit, great enthusiasm and fantastic music - and up there with the best was Mark Hollis. A visionary genius, he was way ahead of his time and a very intelligent bloke. I know he dropped out of the music scene to be a good dad, as he put it, but now his sons are in their early twenties, it's time to re-emerge and save us from the dross we have to suffer today!

  • This is must be one of the most underrated videos of all time. Years later, Bruce Springsteen with the help of Jonathan Demme would steal that concept for "Streets of Philadelphia".

  • OMG...they're cracking me up big time. Love them chaps!

  • makes me eart ache too!!!

  • PURE QUALITY..nuff said.

  • @jonfletcher147

  • .....TALK TALK STILL RULES!!!!!!

  • fresh today as it ever was.

  • sigh........

  • Actually, MTV has replay of Talk Talk's videos many many times weekly. They still have lots of play on the daily 80s videos in the mornings. :o)

  • lol, excellent song and it seems as if the guys had a good time making the video.

    Thanks for the upload

  • I miss them...

  • Mark Hollis a Genius...

  • hmmm a little bit of lsd methinks......

  • People say the 80s were lame but they only know what MTV put out mostly. Yes this was on MTV but not enough airplay. "It's my life got it from what little I can remember". But Talk talks better stuff never made it on. At least in the later years. The music scene finally changed over in around 88.

  • ha ha ha = ) dum is actuly spellt DUMB!!!!

  • @guyhamling

And actuly is actually spelt actually!

Oh, and spellt is actually spelt spelt.

Sorry fella, sombody had to do it, lol.

  • Funny. :)

  • he is too cute. wish this music would come back.

  • heartbreaker MAN... TALK TALK damn u :( come back ?

  • Bet the old guy pushing the two guys controlling the camera was knackered after that. (and dizzy) lol but great song as always

  • mito assoluto

  • i remember watching this when i was like 6 on my mums video of their music vids.

    i'm 16 now and i still love it :)

  • Every time i watch this i smile.

    A freakin' gem is this.

    Be Well.

  • questo era troppo fuori un mito davvero bravo...grande gruppo !! bravissimi

  • @twinkle720

    Molto bene.

    Nice one, me old Twinkle.

  • Damn, what a song! Love it.

  • Bass playing reminds me of Mick Karn of Japan.

  • Tsssss

Mick Karn would wish he could play like this...

  • Total Mick Karn!

  • Brilliant!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • strange video ??!very nice. boy ..very nice voice but too much time ago.-right??.where did they finish? song and sound are interesting original ..but I think If he could have done better of himeself..about also a major pubblic..more live concerts!we never saw him with a woman..is he marriage? he was very sensual songer

  • Yes he is still married and had two sons.

  • really??It's a pity for women pubblic and fans! but never known it on the newspaper ...he's very gelous oh his privacy our Mark ...sob!

  • He once said in an interview he was married to a woman called Flick he'd met as a teenager. He wasn't your average 80s model-chasing pop star. The two kids are Fred and Charlie.

  • Oh really ? Interesting. Anyone knows more about her ? If he was not, i would be a willing candidate....there is something about him...drifting off now from the music....

  • Yes He is married,I dont remember her name or to who.He is still so private about his life.

  • That not so hard to be like that in his shoes. He is of the grid since what? 1991? He never made something new after that as far as i know. The omly made like 5 albums in total. Mark hollis always had that own sound in his vocals.

I got all there work, still loving it !

  • Is Mark still involved in the music industry as an artist?

  • Back in the days when music was still music!

    Thank you.

  • You are getting old!!!! Thats something different.

  • Oh and you are not?

  • Lol, but music now is still music and there is a lot more variation now then "back in the days"! I think i am older then you haha. Great song btw.

  • It is a crime that these guys are not playing together. It literally makes my heart ache.

  • @axisjames

I agree so much talent and creativity one of the 80's most brilliant treasure,

  • @axisjames I think the same thing every day... best underrated band lost ... in the abyss ... everything they put out was genius... <3 talk talk <3

  • excellent!

  • Really wonderful to see the production work on tape and how much physical and performance effort goes into promoting a song. Loved seeing Mark, even tho' he had to lip sync. Wish him well whereever he is - he and the guys made alot of people happy!

  • YES!!!!! So glad EMI put this one up as well. Many thanks to Toorloo for previously having posted this one.
