@cognativoverlord No reason to apologize, what you are saying makes sense when viewed from the surface. If one were to investigate further, we would realize that the wars we see in Africa today, are a direct result of European colonialism on that continent. When the Europeans moved out, they left a void and tribes, that lived side by side for eons, who were now accustomed to the white man's concept of ownership and political power, fight eachother to take the white man's place.

@obscure323 Point taken however: The social hierarchies existed before European Colonial periods of occupency whereas when waring factions, be it religious or territorial, were defeated and taken over, the subjects that were defeated were often absorbed into the society as sub servants. I do agree with you as far as the voids and power struggles are concerned in the modern era however again Religion plays a FAR larger role in Modern African warfare than the voids left by De-Colonization.

I agree, but the natural hierarchies existed for hundreds or years without the warring we see today. The colonizations caused a HUGE problem. While religion DOES play a role, you have to realize that religion is politics. You are seeing wars between mislims and Christians/Catholics. That is because some want an Islamic state. So even beneath the surface of religion lies the politics of trying to set up a government with the interests of their region in mind.

@cognativoverlord This would not have existed without the white man being the root cause. Therefore, the war started with him, even if it was not intended. In Liberia, the war was a result of freed American slaves, who took control of the land, set up an American style government, and practiced the only thing they ever knew about running a country,...SLAVERY. This lead to drama with the original inhabitants of that region that persist in some ways even today (postwar).

@obscure323 From what I have read, the earliest known slavery records from the African region that has been "documented " is during the egyptian periods. The Great Pyrimids are thought to have been built using slaves from the North African area of the Sudan and Niger proper. It expanded during the spice trade routes of Chinesse and Portugese whereas Cheiftans would often offer rival slaves as trade or barter for goods from afar being that they had no other goods to offer of EQUAL value.

2. They recieved little, but some pay.
Watch "500 years later" a documentary free here on youtube. It even has a part about a slave who was a slave in Africa PRIOR to being a slave in the UK. See what HE said about the difference.

I don't feel like digging through European history to find examples; however, if you count the genocide of millions of Native Americans and every war between them and the US government, you will find it as a direct consequence of the Queen of Spain who funded Columbus in the first place.

And this horrible indiferrence of doctors. Now I'll change my GP. About seriously ill patient she does nothing.
