Since they think they are righteous they they are offended by the gospel. If you truly love these lost people then proclaiming the gospel truth despite how offensive it is and how much they hate you for it is actually the most loving thing you can do. If you truly dont love them then just being nice and liberal and "non-confrontational" is certainly the best way to hate them and not be bothered with their eternal damnation state. Sometimes the Christian has to debate and fight.
Thats true that we have the holy spirit so obviously we can defend the faith and have confidence. but with that we have a desire for God and to know more and apologetics come with that and its how we can show evidence for the gospel. Many times those "anti corporate" guys have no interest to hear about sin, death, redemption, salvation, eternal life because they come from an entitlement culture that believes they are owed things from rich people.
