The funny thing is, the police are all probably as pissed off as the protestors - having to put up with lower pay, cuts, longer hours, higher food prices/energy costs and a reduced standard of living while the rich just lap it up and profit off a seemingly never ending nightmare economy - hmm.. visions of Karl Marx spring to mind. They have a total monopoly on the use of force against civilians and face little to no consequence, in self-defense or from the legal system, for abusing their monopoly. Why should the police be afraid? They have guns, gas, power. If a civilian tasers a police officer, they get arrested.

After seeing the level of violence which the police used on the protestors over these years I can no longer feel sorry for them when I hear that they have been killed in the line of duty nor do I care any longer if someone was to beat them up. I am reminded at a story many years back where a police officer was getting beaten up in the street and they were angry that no one stepped in to help. Well I would now be one of those who would just stand their and watch. I may even clap in celebration
