  • I cant believe this video is almost 7 minutes long lol

  • i just read this fucking add on craigslist that shit is funny as hell...its wording makes you wanna buy it seriously...

    -florida

  • it did get bought.

    ;-)

  • what the hell were you thinkin when you posted it...?????..lol

  • did anybody actually buy this? with such a captivating description, i would have for sure. excellent ad!

  • yes ...

I had some incredible offers to say the least...but the unique item sold to a very good home for the asking price.

  • looks good. might go well with my collection...

  • Ohmygosh this is the most hilarious thing I have seen in a long time!!!!!!! Best-of-Craigslist never fails, but I have to say this is my favorite one ever. The combo of CL and YouTube is brilliant.

  • thankyou.

  • I believe you may have underestimated the sheer value of such a collectible item. A closer look at the pictures (I have a larger than life cardboard cut out in the corner of my bedroom) and you can see the perfect piece of excess molding on the top seem. Do you understand what that means!!!!!!! Your pin is one of 2 in exsistance. The two MUST! be reunited.

  • I would love to see that !

  • this vid and the CL ad made my freakin' day

  • I'm glad.

    :-)

  • ;-)

  • Item was shipped to Matthew H. last week.

    Thankyou Matthew !

Please take special care of the unique item !

  • I have to have it...do you take PayPal???

  • Hmmm, that's a doosy of a bend in the ol' shaft you've got there (check photo @ 1:20). In my day I've only seen 7 or 8 tacks with a similar problem. In my experience, the most effective method for fixing it is to gently massage the kink out between a firm thumb and forefinger. Roll for a few hours before the intended results are achieved. This is a labour intensive remedy, I know, but your tack (and your customers) will thank you dearly with many more years of continued use.

  • What a jewel!!!!! You should probably hang on to that...maybe take it to antique roadshow in a few years.

  • psshh i have a red '73. beautiful she is. nooooo imperfections. the deppest red you will ever see. crafted by a turkish woman with one arm living in russia who thinks she lives in canada and sells jelly beans for a living. but on her spear time, she makes works of art. in mint condition.

  • wow...i laughed so amazingly hard

  • I have a '87 black one. Oh, I remember the summers on the hill at night with my friends, watching the stars with that pin. It has been appraised at $0.45! It is fully mint condition, all original parts and has never been restored, due to proper care in a climate-controlled environment to prevent rush. I still take it out to the drive and wash and wax it every weekend, even if it hasn't been used.

  • Damn, I wanted it...

  • 32 cents?!?!!?? What a deal!!!!! I have been looking all over LOL

  • ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh FUCK!!!!!

    IS IT SOLD ALREADY???

wutta bitch! i always miss the best frickin deals.

  • Such a fine, rare item~~one to be tresured and honored. The blue push pin deserves a shrine. I hope Matthew takes good care of it!!!

  • that's almost 7 minutes of my life that I will never get back...i feel as though I've died a little on the inside

  • yes...I know what you mean.

  • The ad on craigslist brought me here to enjoy the video presentation. What a joy to behold

  • ;) glad to hear it !

    It's a unique item !

  • where might i find the proper tools to fix the bend in the shaft

  • Did you actually ever sell it? I couldn't stop laughing at the ad.

  • Matthew who left a video response above is the proposed purchaser of the unique item. We are anticipating his payment in the mail within the next week. we'll update everyone after it has shipped out.

  • Is he seriously paying for it? how is he paying .32 cents?

  • he said he's mailing it.

we will keep everyone updated. It wasn't in today's mail.

hopefully Matthew comes through...we are so excited.

  • This is quite brilliant! Made my day, thanks for that. A perfect follow-up for the CL ad.

I just wish I had the money...

  • the market is not hot...the black hole is.

which team do you play for?

not a good candidate for the unique blue push pin.

  • Lol the craigslist post was awesome. Thanks for the laughs!

  • Matt , Go ahead....and send in your payment !!!

We are all very excited around here.

  • I can actually feel that.

  • hmmm... matt hernandez has first dibs at 32 cents...but

    .. hmmm..

  • award, that is how we'd hoped you'd feel.

    this is very important.

  • i'm a college student. do i get a student discount?

  • It seems like a lot of money, but the pin is something that you and your loved ones would be sure to cherish in the years to come.

  • Can't believe I watched the whole video, F'ing well done..... Makes me want to adopt the little pin, He/She? deserves a great home...

  • so .32 cents eh? Can I get 3 for a penny then, or do you offer change if I just buy one?

  • lulz

  • If you are interested in selling the Green Pin also please contact me !!!

  • I WISH TO PURCHASE THIS PRODUCT

  • Oh the miracle of a mundane object. What poetry, what genius design, what a powerful simplicity of it's function. Behold the pushpin!

  • amen elpege

    amen. (namaste')

the counter question is ..(and all questions contain and infact are their own answer)...

"what is mundane, and who decides so?"

  • EPIC!

  • I feel the music really suits the mystique of this pin. I wish I had known about the sale earlier. I would have paid double, no, triple!!! for this item.

  • I was the unfortunate buyer of this item and upon reviewing the video I believe that you switched the pin you claimed was available for the less valuable look-alike pin. Contact me immediately to rectify this problem or you will be hearing from my legal representative.

  • Your Craigslist posting of this pin got that smarmy eBay tone just right!

  • hmmm..

  • ha ha ha! This, and the best-of posting on CL, have made my day! Good choice with the MJ song from the History album!

  • unless it has holy healing powers, its just a pin. this fossil i have in my hand, has far more stories to tell, then a pin. trust me..

  • but is your fossil able to hold a peice of paper up on the wall with the help of a bulletin board?

  • well no, but it would make a better paper weight then a single pin ever could.

  • "trust me"...

  • like i said. mines bulky, but holds more down, then a pin can hold up!

  • is it me? or is this a freaking pin!? check this out, i just bought a box of them for like 2 bucks, and i rather then made a movie out of them, i used them to hang crap on my wall.

  • this one is very unique.

  • I think this thumbtack is my soulmate. I can't believe all these years I've been living this lie of marriage and mothering when all this time my perfect puzzle piece was blue and pointed. We must be together. WE MUST! IT'S MEANT TO BE!

  • The video is of pretty low quality- how can we be sure that it is not doctored, or that stunt doubles weren't used for the pin in question?

  • I am prepared to have your children!

  • I would like a small clear plastic box full of them. thanks. let me know.

  • i think i luv you

  • i KNOW i love you jeanneadele

  • I, too, found the ad in 'best-of' on craigslist. Hilarious. I showed it to a bunch of people. When you find something this great, you just have to share it. Awesome work!

  • ALRIGHT !

LISTEN UP>>> MATTHEW HERNANDEZ's VIDEO IS HOW IT'S DONE !!!

    THANK'S MATT. VERY SINCERE !

IF YOU WANT THIS WONDERFUL ITEM STATE YOUR CASE IN A VIDEO REPLY JUST LIKE MATTHEW DID OR IN YOUR OWN WAY!

WHEN WE RECIEVE A HANDFUL OF VIDEO REQUESTS WE WILL CHOOSE A CANDIDATE TO PURCHSE THE WONDERFUL ITEM !!!

WE ARE SO GLAD FOR THE POSITIVE INTEREST !!!

  • Apparently it's done very well on CL as a best of....thanks we are glad to bring joy to your day...that is why we are so selective at this point....it should go to someone who understands the push pin and it's wonderful and potential uses.

  • created my YouTube account just to comment.

    priceless

  • justpushplay...you should leave a video response if you are very interested.

    thankyou for your interest..

when this ad ran on CL we recieved more inquiries then we could handle. We are so excited to see that everyone understands what this blue push pin is all about !!!

  • Is it THE thumbtack?

  • Dumb

  • Great! Absolutely GREAT! Great AD and fab. idea! Brilliant! Bravo! More, please.

  • wow how bored were u lol

  • Is that Micheal Jackson singing? Interesting choice either way.

  • my video should be up by mid week,

    The Ranch

  • The shaft is fine, straight, and true,

    Gleaming steel and functional, too.

Easy to grasp, and easy to use,

Beautiful in every way in color blue.

  • amen.

    what he said.

  • high quality, 32 cents! frickin deal! haha congrats n best of! -another friendly craigslist user

  • I'll give you $1 for it.. Just so I have the push pin thats becoming a phenomenon amongst Craigslist users!

  • you guys have to motivate and leave a video response ! you can get it if you move me in my soul for this item. the response is overwhelming, and it's the only fair way to do it.

  • congrats on nest of criegslist

  • hey ur on best of craigslist lol

  • ha! lol...I saw that...wow...and all for a standard for sale ad...hmmm??

  • That IS a beautiful unit.

  • In my opinion this is the model 5338 Acco pushpin, precursor to the Model 5341. The model 5338's are very rare and collectible, formed from a harder ploycarbonate which holds the color dyes better. As a member of the Southern California Societ'e des les Pushpins, a push pin in as obviously pristine "like new" condition (grade A 9) as this one would fetch somewhere in the neighborhood of $.47 on the low side to $.64 on the high side. I thought you'd like to know. Good luck with your sale!

  • Thanks for the info !!!

just so you know...this is not a bakelite model.

  • Saw your ad on CL would like to know if the item is still avaiable? In the stock photo's I did notice a small scratch near the thumb press, and also a rather large defect blemish on the plastic near the probe. Let us know your final asking price.

  • "NOT" stock photos.....geesh.

  • is your push pin still for sale i have fond memories from 1992 and have the perfect picture that your in would complete but isthe color of your pin bliss blue or papa smurf blue i am in serch f the bliss blue colored pin only made 102 of them in 1992 please let me know if you still have it i would pay up to $0.41 for it not only would it bring smiles to me but my friends and goldfish as well i call him fernando thanks

  • a heartfelt video response will earn the sale of this madly sought after item.

  • That's glorious.

  • I'll give you $0.30 for it, but that's my final offer.

  • will u take $0.29?

  • video reply

  • I love you.

  • I love you as well.

  • Deadline for the video? I need at least a week to post a responce

  • I will wait for yours glen- make it good !

  • the criaglists post made it to the best of craiglist

  • really?? huh.....

    where can that be seen?

  • actually I saw it on the best of CL...I had no idea there was such a site ! wow ! cool !

  • Everything about this is brilliant

  • nice background music

  • um..is this a joke am i really slow are you people being serious?

  • no..maybe...yes and no and maybe.

  • Don't forget to view ...

"Video response invite. Push pin for sale."

You'll find it in video responses where you can state your case, about why you'd be the best candidate for the purchase of the blue pushpin.

  • I am Glad you have received my phone msg, I did not hear a responce however. It is possible I was clearing off the skating rink for our anual office supply hokcey tournament here at the ranch for my only regret is that we could not have the pin here to join in, always next year. Also I forgot to mention I have a pair of paper clips looking to start a life in the great USA.. perhaps you would spnsor them? Have to run me and the hole punch are off to build igloos for our polar bear hunt. call me.

  • glen, based on the overwhelming response we are recieving for the item, we've decided to invite people to leave video replies, telling why they deserve to be the select and only purchaser of the wonderful item.

  • sorry for being a jerk. I have 3 metal thumbtacks (2002 model) that I would trade for your blue push pin. I'll even pay an extra 3 dollars.

  • that is an offer I will consider. You are invited to leave a video response.

  • Dear Sir, I am responding to your ad for the 1992 Blue Pushpin--do you still have it?!!! OMG, this is something I've wanted since I first saw one, an orange one though not blue, in the dentist's waiting room. Actually it might have been red. Anyway, I HAVE THE SPECIAL TOOLS FOR STRAIGHTENING THE PIN AND, MORE IMPORTANTLY, YEARS OF TRAINING & EXPERIENCE in this kind of repair with the foremost SOPAS (Shaft Of Pushpin Alignment Specialist) on the Eastern Seaboard, Gunter Verkhaus. I CAN HELP.

  • I forgot to tell you, do NOT use the pushpin in anything OTHER THAN BALTIC CORK, preferably BLACK FOREST BALTIC CORK until the pin has been repaired. Unduly taxing the pin with inferior materials will 'fret' the submounts and may result in shaft separation--a very expensive repair (well worth it, given the unusual blue color and especially pointy tip, but WHY RISK DAMAGING IT???).

  • Dear Sir, I know you are probably sleeping right now but I really am quite anxious to begin repairing the 1992 Blue Pushpin and have already cleared a work area in my shop. I have an '80 Pushpin, White, on the bench and I just had my assistant contact his estate in Honduras to tell him HE WILL HAVE TO WAIT A LITTLE LONGER FOR 'Snowball' to come home. OK? That's how significant your Blue Pushpin is.

  • I Gunther. I mechanic of pushtackenz. No listen roki; I fix many, many pushtackenz he broked a lot. He once, one time, even broke HEAD of nineteen seventy Green one! Two months recasting head because I for to make new mold! Roki bad for pushtackenz also very bad man.

  • Also, ok, I work on Roki's Yellow pushtackenz which he say No. 1 very good and it has the bad shaft! No fix never not even for to send factory Bavaria!

  • I hope you reconsider. There's probably nobody else that understands the care of pushpins as much as I do, and I would hate to this particular one be forced to a meaningless and abusive life in that canadian pushpin ranch. I know of 2 other pushpins that were sent there, and they didn't make it. To ensure that you consider my request, I will raise my offer to $0.23, plus my yellow pushpin. I await your response.

    Roki

  • Roki, if you are refering to the purple & yellow debocle january 1st 2009, there was nothing we could do for them they wandered off the ranch into dangerous Polar Bear territory. As many times as i told those two trouble makers not to, they would not listen. the mounties still have not found them..If the ranch protocals are followed there shold be no reason they fall in to harms way...

  • has the pin been sold? i am very keen to purchase it!

  • Hi, I'm interested in the blue pin. It's the exact color that I've been looking for. I was wondering if you would take a partial trade in the form of a yellow pushpin that I no longer use. It's in good condition, and being a 2003 model, it is considerably newer than yours. I would be willing to throw in $0.16 cash with this deal, and I will paypal it immediately upon acceptance. I look forward to your reply. Please say yes, I need it before February 3rd.

  • roki...I WILL consider you offer...it's tempting... first i have to return a phone call to the fella in canada with the pushpin ranch...his offer is more tempting...he really sounds like someone who understands what type of buyers we are looking for.

  • lol

  • video great but it is a tack not a pushpin. pushpins are flat once used and usually metal not plastic. This is a tack with delusions of grandeur. But don't let that stop your deep feelings for it.

  • a simple google search says you're wrong. sorry.

  • fitsallsizes,

I am white and my brother is black, but we are both human.

  • You write very well for the most part, but I really recommend you learn the difference between ITS and IT'S.

  • screw the rest ill buy it for $600!!!!!!!!

  • give me a call, I'll send my cell phone number.

  • yeah i was sooo kidding! damn dude your pretty serious about this pushpin!

  • No more serious than "anyone" "anywhere"about "anything" at "anytime".

    Or "just as" serious.

    of course I am.

  • call me an asshole i was just trying to throw off the bidding, i was sure someone wouldve outbid me :(

  • I would like to put in a offer on the Push Pin. If you would take the time to itnerview me you will notice I am probably the most qualified to aquire such a spectacular item. I run a small push pin rescure farm here in central ontario (canada). We have been rescuing push pins and other misc office supplies since early 2009. I think you pin would absolutly love it here, we have pens, pencils & even a three hole punch currently residing on out breezy opened air ranch. please contact me for more

  • Wow...this sounds good.

  • glendonevans,

I got your phone call (unless theres someone else with a pushpin ranch in canada)...I will call you after work tonight.

i'm very interested...it seems you may be the right family to purchase this blue push pin. We are all very excited to speak with you.

  • and why are you going thru all this work to make 32 cents?????

  • why go through "all that work" to make any money?

    think about it.

  • what is your deal man???????

  • Imagine the work he'll go through to sell you a Ford Pinto.

  • whats so special about it?

  • nothing anymore special than anything else we crave collect or strive in this life for.

  • Brilliant.

  • it really is. thankyou.

(pats pushpin on head and sighs)

  • Pffft! is this a joke?

  • nope.

  • I live right by hudson valley, Ill totally take the push pin off your hands

  • I think at this point, with the tremendous response and influx of emails we've recieved,..we'd like to interview potential buyers in person. We may not sell this item to just 'any ol' person. But you may be that person.

  • I want to know what sort of factor the age of the item is. Surely it works like new now, but how long does it have left before it takes slightly more effort than usual to push it in? I don't want to have to deal with that sort of trouble for at least 5 years if I'm paying 32 cents for this thing.

  • ROFLMAO!!!!!!!! hahahahahahahhaahahaa

  • No guarantees.

  • You sure you want to get rid of that pushpin? You look pretty emotionally attached to it, him, whatever.

  • I hear you...you stole the thoughts right out of my mind....this is a very difficult sale for me...but times are hard....and the extra cash would really help.

  • Well...I'll be completely honest....I'm considering putting this rare treasure on e-bay so everyone gets a fair opportunity...but i still really feel compelled to scedule a public viewing first.

  • Unfortunately I have to postpone my collection of any more such charming items. It is clearly very valuable and full of personality, and I am therefore concerned that by adopting it I would be isolating and angering my other pushpins. I already have a blue pushpin and I'm concerned that they would not get along. If my pin ever happens to run away in search of a modeling career, or is kidnapped and I can't afford the ransom, I will contact you immediately to procure this treasure.

  • I can completely understand.

  • I have a similar pin. In fact, I have about 100 of them. What do you think they are worth? Would you like to view my collection and possibly trade?

  • No...I am certain you don't have a pin like this one. One of a kind for certain.

  • Thats awsome!!

  • This is funny! I strangely want this pin. 50c! That's right! 50 cents! XD Hehe.

  • In all honesty...I'd prefer a proper showing of the item before agreeing to any sale.

  • I understand.

  • I'm sorry, but this is one of the dumbest things I have seen in a while. That being said, it is also hilarious.

  • this type of item is not for everyone, but will make some loving family vey very happy.

  • You have way too much time on your hands...but this is seriously hilarious. :)

  • Actually slavin..I don't...that's why I'm letting this wonderful item go to a new home.

  • LOL! Well it's nice of you to take such great care to find a suitable owner. I'm not sure I agree with you charging a "rehoming fee" but I guess we all have to act according to what our individual conscience dictates.

  • Oh...it's not a "re-homing fee".

it is the sale price. It's just slightly over book value on a unique item like this.

  • So ... did you sell it?

  • not yet.

To many people are haggling the price via email. no one has decided to come view the item.

in all honesty the item has to be viewed to be fully known.
