Border Collies, just gotta love them. :) I have 3 now down from 5. they are awesome and the best dogs. I have owned many other breeds but I am stuck on BC's thank you. :)

dude my border collie was so determined to find us when we dropped her off at our grandmas house, she was so smart she ripped off her own collar and ran away to find us. we have never seen her again.

@Wolfoxtail Neither is better :) They are both amazing, and both has their tweeks. But they both are athletic dogs who need to physically and mentally stimulated every day. I have a Border Collie, and I originally liked Aussie's the best.

a BC is the craftiest, smartest, most alert of dogs, how many dogs will follow command by whistle from a farmer/sheperd half a mile away, but they can be as mad as a bag of frogs, love walks, love a chase, love herding (our cat is suffering that), but loves to curl up by you and doze....

i had 1 he was 18 when he died we adopted him bfor i was born when he was 4 he protect me and my sisters and was a big dog but i loved him duke died of old age may he rest in peace

i have 3 border collies, mom and two of her puppies, we are thinking about taking one of her puppies to a farm to herd some sheep, because when we go in the backyard she always herds us LOL! the mom is 10 years old and black and white, the two puupies are 2 years old and one is tri color and one is sable! there names are, mother-misty, puppies- ginger and KC

We have a blue-eyed Border Collie, just about the least energetic dog I've ever had, including BC's & cross BC's! - He's a Lap Dog when he's allowed!! Don't know why.?! But he's a smashing dog and I've always adored BC's, so we're so blessed to have him, he's a 'rescue' dog so had some issues, but he's coming Right, just wish I could get him inspired to chase a ball like our old collie would...

I love Border Collies, but don't like that people are separating the breed so much as to have different classes: conformation, sport, and working. border collies should not be bred unless they have been tested on sheep. i own 2 rescue bcs and 3 other breeds, and am thinking about adding a new bc to my pack. they really are great dogs but are definitely not "pets" as you mentioned in you description.

Who said us humans were smart? *LOL* I think my border collie is smarter than I am. She knows the difference between putting on a leash for a fun walk and putting on a leash for a trip to the vet!

I really liked the photo of the dog feeding the lamb milk. Were did you find it? Do you know anything about that dog? Border Collies must be really intelligent if they can feed lambs...or was it just a pose? I used to have a border collie once. She was a good cow dog who naturally seemed to know how to move the cows easily without scaring them.
