  • A little known fact is that Billy Strayhorn wrote Take the "A" Train..........The "A" Train in real life took you to Harlem the then Mecca of music.

  • 3 people were hit by the A Train...

  • A good song? The best dance band jazz song of all-time.

  • Great stuff!

  • Edward Kennedy Ellington

  • 3 People took the bus and don't have a clue what great music is...

  • How many people are aware that Take The 'A' Train in Canada is called...are you ready for this?...Take The Train, EH?

  • @SuperHartline Johnny Carson once announced, mistakenly, that we were about to hear "Take A Train". He quickly corrected himself and gave that little "busted" smile.

  • Does anybody have the ORIGINAL 1941 RCA Victor version of this on here?

  • Thumbs up if you still listen to this in... I DONT FUCKING CARE!

  • This piece is American classical music.

  • @Transformiceguy123 what do you mean???

  • @7stiga Hes trying to be another funny douchebag by commenting on people that dislike it. Because doing that is SO COOL AND IT GETS YOU UPVOTES SO YOU FEEL GOOD ABOUT YOURSELF

  • thank God I'm not the only one who is in love with all this old music and extremely displeased with what's become of the music industry nowadays.

  • 0 dislikes...I would have been shocked if there was even one.

  • I don't think that today's music is so bad. Nowadays good music is hidden and you've got to find it out by yourself because there's no more artistic information, that's the problem for me. One thing is sure, there are still lots of great musicians and artistic talents around the world.

  • Nothing's better than big band .

  • If you don't like the Duke then please..find something else to do like go drink out of the toilet or something..

  • Thank you, Rockstar Games, and the GTA series for broadening my love of music to Jazz, Funk and country and the 80s.

  • Toronto has quite a big band following in the area. If you live near enough you might hear them on 740 KHz AM on Sunday nights. The program is called, "Big Band Sunday Night". Gee, what a title!!! Think you can also hear them via internet, too. I think the url is

  • A Train was written by Strayhorn, not duke

  • Have you heard Oscar Peterson playing Take The "A" Train with the Duke's orchestra? O.P. literally shakes up the band as he plays it his way.

  • This great orchestra was in Oslo, Norway in 1958, I was there - the starter was the A train - and we jumped in our seats. Memory for life! Thanks for posting.

  • such a shame that they don't have awesome Big Bands like these anymore

  • @trumpetsrule15 Everytime I listen to someone like Duke Ellington or Benny Goodman and then to some crappy singer or band that comes out now makes me realize how low the music industry has gone to make money from people who can't appreciate actual talent.
