the characters for this game are absolutely made by Akira Toriyama but the game is created by Sakagushi Hironobu who once was director for Final Fantasy series.his departure from Squarenix is one of the reason the FF series become unattractive nowadays.

There are only 5 playable characters in the game. The girl from the anime with the hippo shadow doesn't appear in the game. The anime is sort of like a retelling of the same story.

The thing is that people do not realize JRPG's are for JRPG fans, if you do not like the style do not play just to hate on it. I'll admit Blue Dragon was a scratched game, but not many JRPG's are made so alot of game makers do not know what they can do with the 360's abilities. So it is a slow process for JRPG's.

If You Like Games Like Kingdom Hearts And Final Fantasy And You Like Animé, Get This Game It's Awesome, And You Get To Alternate Between Powers Like Mage, Sword Master etc. And You Get To Alternate Your Party's Leader Either Shu, Jiro, Kluke, Zola Or Marumaro But Some Boss Battles Are Hard So I Recommend You Get The Official Prima Guide
