  • Something the Mods would be into

  • My bad... tis the other way round.

  • I never knew Specials covered this! I think this is a Stiff Little Fingers tune.

  • @NikonFrog You aren't serious, are you? The Special's version is the original. Jerry Dammers was the one who wrote it, along with someone named D. Goldberg.

  • @NikonFrog Fingers covered Specials

  • unemployment, thatcher, glue sniffin, diy tattoos, scooter runs, council estates...how i long for the good old days. and i genuinely mean that.

  • Times have changed. This song could go black or white now days,

people need to wake up bloody quick.

  • @centralscrutinizer66, the specials never ever played with the clash, get your facts right

  • HEAD BUTT POW.WOT A WICKED TUNE.

  • Chill out guys. You really can't get on here just to enjoy the music, instead of fighting with some stranger you never met? What are you even doing?!

  • This are 2-Tone!

Can't wait to see the lads come home 29/10/11 and play Cov!

  • Stiff Little Fingers stole this song.. but still awesome

  • Tune!

  • This is ska. Pure, Simple, Timeless, and Brilliant.

So fck off all you smelly old nonces pretending to be 14. And if you are a young one..great.. good luck to you..but don't keep telling us wiser dudes how immature you are. Just enjoy ffs.

  • way better than rap they should have their own station

  • @lavenderpelt i would happily set one up, punk, ska, rock and any other good music

  • Looking forward to The Ricoh on October 29th.

    Home again!!

  • I'm spanish and when i was 17 i knew no english language but i loved this song... now i can understand it... i'm a different person now, older and maybe worse...

  • 30+ years on and still true!

  • LOVEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE THIS SONGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGG !!! I'll never forget buying this album in 1981!!!

  • proud to have seen them live

  • Thank god we have gems like these. I can't stand the crap my generation listens too...

  • Terry Hall what a talent ~~~

  • it doesn,t make it alright...it,s the worst excuse in the wourld.... :)

  • This reminds me of Jr high... I feel bad for today's youth thier music sucks.

  • @carbizguy You are so right! I'm fifteen and music today is absolute crap! Personally I love The Specials and Stiff Little Fingers. Best band's ever!!!!!

  • @carbizguy It doesn't make it alright

  • Just because you are nobody

I love the Specials and specially Terry Hall.

  • Hay algo aqui que no va.

  • we are somebody

  • Mcp, slf was fantastic, but this is the origenal and the best, it seems slower etc, but it's pure class, it's a never say die tune, I'll be on it when am 70

  • Absolute class and unity how it used to b in the uk in the 80s, black n White together, we have that!!!!

  • by far, my favourite Specials song.

"just because you have a reason, it doesn't mean its understood."

  • Two Tone

  • Very brave words considering the times. No wonder they payed shows with the Clash. I would have traded the whole american hardcore punk experience which for the most part was wrought with violence, and pent up suburban pissiness and lack of any positivity or thought, NOT ALL HC BANDS. This looks way more fun and plus a female presence wouldnt have hurt either.

  • @centralscrutinizer66 I agree a lot of hardcore punk and heavy metal is just macho posturing and excludes women. stupid shit.

  • @centralscrutinizer66 Very nice comment :)

  • @centralscrutinizer66 there was a female presence. Pauline Black was the lead singer of fellow 2 Tone band The Selecter

  • @dkgdbr For sure, also the Body Snatchers and not to mention Rhoda Dakar too. I guess the point I was making was that females had a definite presence in the ska scene, more so than the early American hardcore scene, where there were practically none.

  • @centralscrutinizer66

Rhoda Dakar used to sing on some tunes with them........The Specials were excellent....they're lyrics are excellent..

  • @thespinner1112 yeah pearls cafe is a gem :D

  • @speedus98

Yeah you get a thumbs up for that one

  • @Granty2k8 he mate nope Jerry Dammers of The Specials co wrote it with Dave Goldberg. SLF cover very good though... but Specials for me :)

  • I love how the vocals are actually human and not pulled around by software. Sounds so much better. Raw tallent :D

  • REAL OLD SCHOOL

  • Sorry, but I LOVE the SLF version more - perhaps it is because that was the first time I heard it.

  • The Specials are that band that you either love or hate. I love and to hate 'em ain't alright.

  • i saw SLF live few months ago, they do a good version of this but not quite as good

  • @squidvicious27 derrrr slf do a much better version sorry but it's true slf rule but thanx for the song speciel's hanx

  • @1scastle

you are spot on. slf make this song there own.....up the fingers

  • the specials really are special great lyrics

  • love this song :)

  • A cut above the rest. Still amazes me to think of all the "hard" tossers who just used this music as a way to promote stupidity & violence ~ exactly the opposite of what the Specials were about.

    Thanks (-:

  • One of the best things they did!!Love it :))

  • @vespa202 i didnt think that anyone listed to these guys anymore

  • @whosdfgbawl I've got loads of FB Friends who Love them,I love them coz its the music i grew up with!! :)
