I think a fake youtube account emailed you that. Youtube doesnt recommend you, you would of had to apply. And you have to have thousands of views on every one of your videos before they even think about you getting in. I think it was a scam message.

I admire your decision Don. Probably the best thing to do in your situation. If I ever got a message to become a partner, Id probably do the same, although a majority of my vids i dont talk in anyway, but i do covers of songs that are already copyrighted. but yea lol

hey man. I've been wanting to be a partner for a while now and I was wondering what would be wrong with being a partner? How's it a hastle? Sorry for the questions but I just need to know so I can figure out what would be wrong about being a partner. Because I'm sure I can become one. I just don't want to end up with a lot of problems because of it.

i understand i'd like the ability to make longer vids that some people get to do. i mean i see some people can make vids up to almost an hour now that would be sooooo sweet but other than that ability ur right to much hassle. u gotta watch what u say and prove everything u post is owner by you and the list goes on and on plus they have to approve each and every video so it takes up to a day for ur video to post because they have to watch it first. so way to go tell them no thanks

Actually, partnership has nothing to do with time limit.

At first, Director accounts were given unlimited time. They then added the same 10 minute time limit to them as to other account types. It was only for new accounts, though. Those who created Director accounts before the new time limit were grandfathered into not having a time limit.

Yesh I saw where some could go over the time limit and others couldn't. Oh well no big deal if I have break the videos into more than one part.

i could do so much more without a time limit i mean its ok i guess to break them up but it would be nice for viewers to be able to click once and not have to watch a bunch in a row

I suppose you can do that with the Watch All feature of playlists. I guess that plays everything sequentially.

I've never come near the time limit on any of my accounts, so fortunately it hasn't bothered me.
