  • Ok I know you said Leblanc wanted to do some things just like Buffet as the metal tenon caps but you've said this to be a dumb idea for the clarinet. Isn't this your own brand and your own design from beginning to the end ? So why do you use metal tenon caps here if you think it's such a dumb idea ?

  • How can i purchase one? i dont see a link on your site.

  • I think i answered that at the beginning of this video if you listen carefully. Some people prefer a grenadilla clarinet and like the clarinets I did previously. Whenever possible I'm in business to provide what customers want, not just what I want to sell them.

  • Hi Tom, I read your article a while back regarding the superior acoustical qualities of hard rubber, compared to grenadilla. So I'm a bit surprised that you're still opting to make wooden clarinets (at a higher price too nonetheless). Why is that?

  • oh also are you going to put any sound clips of you playing the g1 on ur website?

  • @dan199212 I may do that if I get time. I will say generally I find recordings to be very unreliable, especially in actually communicating tone color (it usually makes the clarinet sound worse than it actually does--plus most sound engineers have no idea what a clarinet should sound like). Recordings are fairly reliable in relating other aspects of the instrument: evenness of response and legato--phrasing ease, etc.

  • @dan199212 I may---it is a matter of time.

  • how much are the clarinets going for :) and it doesn't have the ergonomically register key does it :(

  • @dan199212 Dan, the clarinets will be $1895.00. No. No ergonomic register key at this point. The plan is to add it later, and if anyone wants one and purchases a G-1 before we get the keys made we'll supply them after the purchase at no additional cost.
