Getting rid of the Glass-Steagall Act was a big mistake. The Gramm-Leach-Bliley Act allowed banks to offer investment, commercial banking, and insurance services. The FED loaned(actually gave the unaccounted money) certain special interest banks to buy out banks, financial co., and insurance co. which were mainly overseas. TARP 1= $387 billion. $100 million was used for US loans. Most of the rest of TARP 1 was used to buy OVER SEAS banks. Economy collapsing and banks are buying out the world.
