The best program to do this with is called ProTools it offers a plugin that allows you to pitch shift sounds with out distorting play time or play play back quality. There's no other way to effectively do this. Notice how this sounds metalic like, protools wouldnt cause this type of distrotion.

Thats a terrible idea, the best thing to do is use a program that is actually of quality and pitch shift the entire thing by 1-2 octaves. on that note audacity is NOT an of quality program, use protools it has a program designed for just this kind of project and prevents any type of distortion.
