People who use apple apps. aren't dumb. Apple was the first to offer simple apps that people could create and purchase through the apple store. Every electronic manufacturer does this now. These apps are used to make games, books, references, star charts, GPS, etc. You name it there is an app for it. This allows you to have multiple entertainment, as well as useful guides and tools on one device.. This guy is just wrong. Plus creators can make profits off there apps or share for free.

@teolansee no apple product can be paid for without a wink. They are some of the most expensive products on the market today. The only reason that I think people buy products such as the iphone is because it is the phone that everyone wants, the "in" thing to own. The Droid from Verizon has actually been rated higher on most reviews over the iPhone, and it's cheaper. (But then again, most things are cheaper than an iPhone.)

The customers of these products, are the ones falling into the gullible category. They have an iPhone because everybody else has one and want an iPad, because everybody else will be getting one. The products you use from Apple are costly, yet highly functional and market leaders for a reason. Where as the iPad, is all style and no substance.

I think some commentors felt offended by his statement because they felt insulted to be called "dummies". The only reason that I think people buy products such as the iphone is because it is the phone that everyone wants, the "in" thing to own. The Droid from Verizon has actually been rated higher on most reviews over the iPhone, and it's cheaper. (But then again, most things are cheaper than an iPhone.)

His math is way off. Apple makes like $200 off a base model iPad sale and 33 cents on an 99 cent app sale. About 5 cents on music and loses money on some of it's video sales. Apple would have to sell about 600 99 cent apps to equal the profit on 1 iPad sale.

The customers of these products, are the ones falling into the gullible category. They have an iPhone because everybody else has one and want an iPad, because everybody else will be getting one. The products you use from Apple are costly, yet highly functional and market leaders for a reason. Where as the iPad, is all style and no substance.

SPRING pays S$30m annually to its employees and Philip himself has enjoyed a relatively celebrated career, so I don't suppose he's "dumb", or "jealous", but rather, he's putting his comments too bluntly. I am a singaporean and I agree with him. most people are really crazy,they are blinded by steve job's stupid products. Yet,Ipone was a hit because many people with stupidity are willing to buy. in addition,Apple non-revolutionary Ipad was surrounded by much hype. i would buy tablets PC from lenovo,samsung or HP ,instead of boring Ipad.
