I don't take martial arts. I train by myself. What you see in the video is how I train, although I usually train at the gym (24 Hour Fitness). Also, I don't follow any particular style anymore. I don't believe in styles. If you watch the entire Bruce Lee interview, the one he did in 1971 with Pierre Berton, I think you'll understand why. I think my views are pretty much the same as Bruce's views.
I find it quite impressive that you can do those kicks and punches correctly and with such good form without having been given any training! The internet IS definately a wonderful storehouse of knowledge and other things! I'm assuming that by training by yourself you mean you a) don't take classes and b) must have learned such good form from training videos on the internet. I have a little training in Taekwondo and Aikido but I've decided to train on my own terms now...
To MMRED: I train by myself now. But I had formal training in the martial arts from age 7-18. If you go to my new YouTube channel (user/MagovernMartialArts), I have an introduction video there where I explain my background in the martial arts.
Oh, okay cool. I was wondering how you could'a figured out the proper form to those kicks... HAHAHA! Anyway, that's cool. I've been training by myself as well for a while, although I'm thinking of doing kickboxing or MMA or something like that so I could train AGAINST someone, you know what I mean? But I agree with not trying to follow a particular style.
Yeah, I personally feel confident enough with my abilities as a martial artist now where I don't feel the need to train AGAINST anyone anymore. I think it all depends on what you want out of the martial arts. If you want to learn to really fight, then, yes, I think an MMA or kickboxing school is good. But for me, I am more interested in the "ART" aspect of martial arts, and trying to express myself in an honest way through my particular brand of martial arts.
If you really want the clip with the original track, you could always write a letter to Hatebreed and ask them to allow their track to be used for free on my video. HAHAHA!
There's no consistencey with the copyrite infringement here. My original account is gone because of it, yet this account I'm on, which has copyrite infringement out the ass..is still here.
Still a kickass vid, bro. Inspiring.
I did a frame-by-frame when you get up from the split, looking for signs of relief haha!
Like I wrote at the beginning of the video, all the footage you see in this video was shot in April of 2005. (For all you math-challenged people, that means it was made well over three years ago). I still enjoy training, but I was really pushing myself in this video because I wanted to impress people. For example, when I did the splits, I was in tremendous pain. I tried to hide it though. HAHA! I can't really do the splits that well anymore, but my punches have improved since I filmed this.
This is The REAL Kelly Magovern. I will make a video to prove it. If you watch the videos I'm about to upload, they will explain everything. Thank you.
It's obvious that its Kelly Magovern because he has added loads more videos. He has also added his name in front of every single video so that they're easier to find and so people to download them and fork them off as themselves. Or something similar, I'm sure...
good stuff.
