Bones only work like they're supposed to when the character is a stickfigure! Always have a good mix of bone AND vector animation... bone to cut your work short... and vector to patch up the flaws and "ruberness".

dude, they use bones for 3D even in the animation industries such as Dreamworks or pixar.

Well, I was referencing to Anime Studio animation, and only that. With the right vector setup, bones do work... but that takes years of experience and/or days of time where you could just manipulate the vectors more manually.

@DulvluSpa well takes me 15 minutes to bone something. Unless I'm doing something advanced then it will take 1-2 hours. and for me it will take me days if I animate by manipulate the vectors manually.

I guess I'm just used to using vectors, but I guarantee you vector animation makes the best results for realistic animation.
