In addition to aggroed, losing threat and lost threat, TidyPlates has a fourth colouring scheme - aggroed by another tank - which is pretty useful for handling and evenly dividing large packs.

Question for anyone here. I installed Tidy Plates after seeing it more in depth. A nice addon that is simple. I noticed that when you have selected a target you can see their cast bar and debuffs. Is there a way that you can see the cast bar on ALL enemies without actually selecting that enemy? I'd love to be able to see that on that add-on if it's possible. Also is there a way to move the debuffs to under the mob instead of above the mob?

Good guide. Considering I have been using this as a tank for some time, was surprised that I actually sat through the entire thing. This is one of those addons that all tanks and dps (to some degree) should use.

I've been using tidyplates for over a year now, and I absolutely love it. Besides for tanking (why I got it) it's nice for my mage or rogue etc to see how long a sheep or sap has left above the name plate.
