"Grown-Up Christmas List" was written in 1990 by David Foster (music) and Linda Thompson-Jenner (lyrics) (ex-wife of Olympic athlete Bruce Jenner). They married in 1992, and the pair also wrote "I Have Nothing" - a huge hit for Whitney Houston in 1993.

"Grown-Up Christmas List" first appeared back in 1990, on David Foster's album "River of Love". The vocals on that track were by the great Natalie Cole. Amy Grant then released a version on her 1992 holiday album that made the tune popular. No offense to Clay, but the original by Natalie Cole/David Foster is way better IMO. Look up the video on YouTube if you can. Well worth it.
