Hay im making a rhod right now as we speak and all i need are the fingers thanks for the help took me a whole day to put the hand and forearm together so yea if you could make a video and the fingers it would be cool.
report me for not making a video? dude, just so ya know, this is a service, not a network.... i'm not paid to do this, i do it out of love for the character... and it's coming, i've started putting the new one together. honestly, rude comments like this make me wanna make you wait longer! lol
yeah, but could you imagine lugging that around with you all day? besides, it'd probably weigh down the fingers, lol. anyway, i've taken this idea into consideration before, and the next time i build one i'm gonna give it a layer of foam, carve the pattern into that, then seal it all with a latex skin
that version, which i've since passed on to another costumer, was made of cardboard, plastic fingers, LOADS of duct tape, and some acrylic paints. but you live you learn.... the finish was poor and the paint kept chipping
i've attended a few in the london area over the past 3/4 years... you can come along in whatever you want, but if you ARE interested in costuming, and want to show your fandom for a certain character or show, etc, then you're more than welcome to come with your costume, change at the con, and parade around the con floor in it. me and my hellboy group are gonna be attending london film and comic con in july in costume. i'll also be attending dragoncon in atlanta in sept.
omg I am SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO jealous I'm stuck with the closed fist one.
You know what's funny, your's looks EXACTLY like the one in the movie, but Ron Pearlman didn't even control the fingers. They had to go through all that trouble to make the fingers remote-controlled. And this took you like only a few days to make.
Lucky. I wish you could either show us how to make 1 or make extras and sell them. I'd buy one!
no, sorry, all i have is a template you could use for the fingers (check out one of my "RE:" videos for the link to it), but i'm hoping to rebuild the RHoD from scratch, using what i've learnt to make it waaay better, and i've promised to video more of the construction process when i do
I was there that weekend was the busty girl in the corset :) Just wondering who the guy dressed as Kroenen was because I think he'd be amused at how the picture turned out
oh now thats cool, i tried making a right hand of doom once, turned out so crappy i ended up just binnig it, this one is awesome though, i might take another stab at it, how long did it take you to make?
took about 2 or 3 days from start to finish, but i was doing alot of guess work as I went along, so stuff was changing all the time. luckily that meant that I now have a good idea of how to build a better one, and i might just do that when i get the time and space
Hey! I saw you guys yesterday at LFCC (I was cosplaying Poison Ivy) and I have to say, Your costume was AWESOME. You could tell a lot of work went into those costumes, and it's great you're sharing your knowledge!
hey! thanks for the kind words. loved your ivy costume. me and abe were batman and joker last year, and love those characters. i'm going to the dark knight premiere tomorrow, so keep an eye out for me if you're about, lol
sheet plastic with a band of elastic controlling each one, sorta acting like tendons... this allows for a little stretch, which lowers the chances of fingers breaking
are you talking about the fingers? well, they're connected to my fingers by elastic cables on the inside, so when my finger bends, the fingers bend on the RHoD... i've got a whole video on this, lol, check it out
i love the soundtrack! i remember it from the movie but what is the song called?

Saw the 2nd Hellboy film at the previews on Tuesday and just had to ask, Can you do the peace sign with your hand? :P
super1337izzle 3 years ago
hehe, kinda... the fingers move individually, but at the moment, they're not out-stretched, so i can do a peace sign, but looks a bit lazy... lol
callmemilo 3 years ago
Hahah.. thats an improvement for hand #2 then? Just kidding... I think your one is just fine!
super1337izzle 3 years ago
nah it's cool, i've been thinking about redoing the suit, making it better, lighter and more breathable... maybe something for hellboy 3, eh
