He deserves grace. We all have fallen short of the glory of God. God has already forgiven Him, and Christ asks us to do the same. They show we are Christians by our love. I have watched the Lakeland revival event, members from my church actually went to it but came back disappointed - I am Biblically and righteously judging him are you saying that we are to just believe everyone that mentions the name Jesus and just go along with every wind of doctrine that they come up with, are we not commanded to defend the Gospel and to reprove those that are perverting it. People of God, do not chase after Prophets, Chase after the Lord Jesus Christ. The body of Christ is everywhere and Our Lord will rise up the entire body, not just a few, so we can minister to each other and the lost. I do not know Todd Bentley. Never went to any of his services. I have been a Christian for 25 years. I seen and heard so many things in the Charismatic circles. The church has been used and abused by ministers full of lust and greed. I see in the prophetic movements demons manifesting, the spirit of Divination. I see if you have a word, you write a book and of course the Christian thinks they need to buy that book. True repentence, which is not seen in this man.
You know, the way Jesus said to deal with the sinning brother was to bring the sin to him privately, and if he wouldn't listen bring two or three more and if he still wouldn't repent, then it was time to bring it publically. Only, they were supposed to disfellowship him until he repented. That is BIBLE (Matthew 18). Was that what happened here? This is not about hate or judgment; it's about making sure God's Word was followed. And did Todd truly and really repent?
I appreciate Bentley's confession but would still keep him in check as a minister. The theatrics at the Lakeland so-called revival are questionable but I cannot say God did not bless. Todd should have been in check during the services for some of the ridiculous things he said; Kicking an old woman to bring healing, the angel Emma, so called being drunk in the spirit(no doctrinal proof - that is another debate).
If Lakeland was such a true revival it would have brought change to USA.

I have been through 3 church splits for Pastors who committed adultery and was made to resign. This was a great wound to the body of Christ (church memberships) We forgive Todd but is it too much to ask our Christian Pastors to Lead by example, or not at all? I just read a pretty good article about manipulating crowds, loud fast music met with slow soft music raises and lowers the blood pressure and almost acts like a drug on the brain. Then this guy comes out yelling and screaming, preaching sensational messages that appeal to the flesh and not the spirit. They stay far from preaching doctrine because that is Pharisaical (in reality preaching doctrine would teach his crowd to assess his message based on Scripture instead of emotion).
It amazes me the effort believers expend in trying to 'figure out' whether this guy is of God or the Devil. Yes, the blood can cover his sin...but the big question is: Does he not continue to sin in not leaving the woman he had the affair with? Does a wedding ring cahnge it from adultery? To marry one who is divorced with no Biblical cause is adultery. This is our concern. Not whether he can be forgiven...but has he showed the fruits of repentance? In other words, has he truly sought to be forgiven? Our concern is for his eternal soul.
Forgiveness is not the same as holding someone accountable. And I don't feel he has truly been held accountable, and I heard one reason the alliance members came there to allign with him or the revival was for the purpose of helping him allign things in his life. And I don't feel they did that. What good is my forgiveness if the man is actually living sin (which God knows for sure), if he is not truly forgiven by God? His actions don't show a true repentance.

We are told to forgive so regardless of what has transpired in this situation we must forgive. We are all human and we have all made mistakes and at any point it could have been one of us.
How come when Todd asked the alliance what he needed to do they said "Get engaged."? Wrong answer. It's not in the Bible. God says if you divorce your CHRISTIAN mate and you are a Christian, too, you only have one of two options: remain single or go back to your original mate. You can not call me judgmental in this, because it's straight out of the Bible. God's Word is our standard. This is all we have to judge by, and we are told to judge with righteous judgment.

You know, the way Jesus said to deal with the sinning brother was to bring the sin to him privately, and if he wouldn't listen bring two or three more and if he still wouldn't repent, then it was time to bring it publically. I appreciate Bentley's confession but would still keep him in check as a minister. The theatrics at the Lakeland so-called revival are questionable but I cannot say God did not bless. Todd should have been in check during the services for some of the ridiculous things he said; Kicking an old woman to bring healing, the angel Emma, so called being drunk in the spirit(no doctrinal proof - that is another debate).
If Lakeland was such a true revival it would have brought change to USA.

i don't believe he is a false prophet. just because he is a prophet doesn't mean he isn't human. God can use ANYONE. Even if they make really bad decisions.

Yes, the blood can cover his sin...but the big question is: Does he not continue to sin in not leaving the woman he had the affair with? Does a wedding ring cahnge it from adultery? To marry one who is divorced with no Biblical cause is adultery. This is our concern. Not whether he can be forgiven...but has he showed the fruits of repentance? In other words, has he truly sought to be forgiven? Our concern is for his eternal soul.

Forgiveness is not the same as holding someone accountable. And I don't feel he has truly been held accountable, and I heard one reason the alliance members came there to allign with him or the revival was for the purpose of helping him allign things in his life. And I don't feel they did that. What good is my forgiveness if the man is actually living sin (which God knows for sure), if he is not truly forgiven by God? His actions don't show a true repentance.

1 Corithians 7:10 & 11, New Testament, which is not under the Law. And if they are truly trying to restore Todd to ministry, the Bible is plain that those in the ministry should be the husband of one wife.

How come when Todd asked the alliance what he needed to do they said "Get engaged."? Wrong answer. It's not in the Bible. God says if you divorce your CHRISTIAN mate and you are a Christian, too, you only have one of two options: remain single or go back to your original mate. You can not call me judgmental in this, because it's straight out of the Bible. God's Word is our standard. This is all we have to judge by, and we are told to judge with righteous judgment.

Wow....this is my first time hearing about this man. It all boils down to the facts of life that we are all human and that we all fall short to sin. But to lie on God, to twist and contort the scriptures, and then use religion as a cover for sinning is an abomination. On the hand other, he did apologize to his congregation and to the minstry. I hope it was acccepted. It is nothing like being forgiven.

Not all of us can keep a straight life, but this is a warning to us Christians that we really need to discern what we are listening to. Chrsitians should definatly not tattoo thier skin after conversion and if they do, they need to stop.
