Believe it or not people but Fortwos are very safe in a crash. But that is where the good ends. It has the worst automatic transmission in the America market, has lackluster acceleration, doesn't handel too well, has some complicated controls, is not very reliable and runs on premium fuel. Not so smart now.

You may not believe it but in independent testing the Mercedes Smart Tridion Safety Cell can withstand greater pressure per pound than the BMW Mini.
The car may be very small and not to everyones tastes but nobody can denie that steel cage is incredibly strong.
What other car do you know of that all the panels are plastic with that Safety cell holding the car together.
A car wouldnot stay in production for nearly 12yrs unless the concept was a brilliant one.
