If I installed a fresh hard drive on my Mac, provided that I have made a copy of "Mac OS X Lion", do I go through the same process?

Can you choose reinstall OS X without erasing your hard drive? Like can you actually not do a clean install?

@sorathekey555 I think so, this would be like preforming an upgrade to the current o/s but you would need to have snow leopard installed I think, not sure.
