Why are the fuel economy numbers so high?

@Hackiesacker007 it is not a hybrind, and one can get even higher MPG. The new VW Polo Bluemotiion can get 62 MPG or 3,8 L/100km, however it is a diesel and this is probably a petrol engine. I am driving here in Germany an 11 years old VW GOLF IV diesel with 5,8 L /100 km or 50 MPG, and it is great. I dont really like hybrinds I prefer diesel engines. They are reliable and ecnomical and the new generations are preaty smoot and quite too.

@nggonline Ok but, this is a news, the Prius has increased the sales in Europe for the 50% and all the production of the new Auris Hybrid for 2010 is already sold. European starting to buy hybrids as you can see in fact also VW,Mercedes and BMW's have hybrids in their line up and very soon also Range Rover with the powerful hybrid version of the new Evoque.

A manual is now available in the 5 door hatch with the powe pac as of the '010 model. I know, because I just test drove one. ;)
