@lethal11x Jmann left mushroomhead in 2004, due to his fathers death. He remained in (216) and Pitch Black forecast as well as alter boys. (I doubt they are still making music though.) He comes back to play the old school shows.

I know everyone has their unique style, but I am just learning to scream so I am used to sounding like everyone else. After a while do you start to develop your own style? after your voice and such gets used to it I guess? I am naturally higher than Jmann, so it's hard for me to scream his style.

I am within Jmann's octave, but I can't hit the low C's he hits (but they're much rarer anyway). First day on singing lessons, my teacher said two things about metal singing... "the microphone is your new best friend" and "don't try to emulate any other singer".

So do your own thing and you end up singing in a certain style. I kind of sound more like the guy from Opeth than Jmann. Or even the guy from All That Remains.

@nfarnham2008 yeah, once your mucal folds start to get used to the strain you gradually start do develop your own natural sound. People have told me I sound like a number of people, when I hear myself I just hear me. Just make sure your using your mucal folds and not your voice box.

I've been a screamer/grunter for about 4 years now. I'd say it takes a year for your voice to completely get used to it and really start developing a unique sound. Of course, everyone develops at different speeds.

the way i see it, is Jay mann was better. think about it....Jay mann and Jeff Nothing were opposites when it came to vocals which gave MH its sound. Jeff nothing Did harmonics and Jay mann did deep yelling and one mean rap. Waylon does harmonics can lower his pitch a little deeper, so you have now 2 harmonics. They just need all three. that would be the best band line up PERIOD!
